Hopefully, Seattle has some pride. Kirby doesn't want to ruin his ERA by not trying tomorrow. He'll probably get some Cy votes and use it to help his arbitration case is he pre arb?). I'm sure their are others fighting for personal milestones. Maybe even some contract bonuses. The team they're playing just eliminated them. They can hear the music down the hallway. I'd want to kick their ass regardless. Let the baseball gods do their thing.

They may. But the advantages of the bye to the ALDS are too great.

Not only do you get to set your pitching up in games 1&2 with JV-Framber, you get to give Alex and Kyle much needed rest. I think the so many days these guys played effected their offense the last couple of weeks.

Guess it just depends on how much pride the Mariners have.

I think the risk (and the likelihood) of playing Tampa then Baltimore if we manage to beat the rays far outweighs the benefit (and the slim chance) of Texas losing and us getting the division. Probably best to throw the game tomorrow lol but that's probably the BAS talking.

Eh - not sure I can see Seattle just packing it in. Maybe they will.

The advantages of the bye are quite a bit as well. Maybe more so than the 6th seed.
