Stros have really had to survive with limited options for much of the year…and a manager who, despite that, doesn't see any reason to optimize our limited options. Fortunately, other than the Maldytross, the lineup is finally starting to make some sense

You would hope they had some internal discussions before he made that type of declaration. If not Dana might be gone with Dusty. I hope not as I think he's just what we need to revamp our farm system.

Example: Dana Brown saying the Astros were out of the market for starting pitching. They were actively pushing for JV when he said that.

He's going to say he's confident it'll get done. If he says anything else, the fanbase will lose their minds. If it doesn't get done, he can say "well we were confident, and we were close, but Tucker's camp took the other offer instead".

The question wasn't being asked. He did not have to say it. He also had a chance to say "we will do the best we can to make it happen"

I would guess that is highly unlikely for them to be close. I think he's said similar things about Bregman & Altuve.

He's not wrong on any of them, but we can't pay everyone and we should not commit to too many guys who will be exiting their prime.

I think Crane might be seeing just how important someone like Tuck is to the Astros, and essentially saving there ass this year with Yordan hurt, Altuve hurt, Bregs under producing, Albreu flop, etc.

In some rare cases longer year contracts makes sense. For Tuck it makes sense.

True points. Tuck very well may hold out until FA and chase the $, which I could hardly blame him, but I just want the Astros to at least make Tucker an incredible offer he really has to think hard about.
