One of his parents are Japanese which is how he has a connection to the team.... I'm good with that. Arozarena on the other hand has no connection to MexicoPhatMack19 said:
Weird watching the interview with the dude from California talk about We and representing our country while playing for Japan. That's one thing I don't like about WBC. You shouldn't be able to pick and choose which country to play for.
Wasn't crazy about that either. His mom is Japanese though so that is how he made the team. I learned today his full name is Lars Taylor-Tatsuji Nootbaar.PhatMack19 said:

Not no connection. He defected to Mexico. He played in a Mexican league. He has a Mexican daughter. I can feel for guy who fled Cuba and wants to represent the country that took him in.
And as a baseball product, it's better with Randy on Mexico.
no MLB batter has faced Yu Darvish more than Team USA’s Mike Trout (49 PA)

.317/.429/.659, 4 HR (T-most by any batter vs Darvish)
Probably the most remarkable thing about this walk-off is Ukyo Shuto reaching a sprint speed of 30.4 ft/s (ELITE) and reaching home plate from 1st base in only 10.3 seconds (3.08 seconds from 3rd to home).

Japan announces Shota Imanaga will start the WBC final against USA, and not Yu Darvish, or even Shohei Ohtani.

Intriguing.....
Isn't he a citizen of Mexico? He just happens to be an immigrant from Cuba. He probably feels more at home in Mexico than America. The WBC has been amazing.bearkatag15 said:One of his parents are Japanese which is how he has a connection to the team.... I'm good with that. There is a better than 50% chance that tonight is the only championship game Trout and Ohtani will ever appear in together, so enjoy it Angels fans.

He has made his home in Mexico since his defection from Cuba and has become a naturalized citizen.MallalieuAg said:Isn't he a citizen of Mexico? He just happens to be an immigrant from Cuba.
