I wouldn't hate having Judge in Houston. It will never happen, though. What will he get as far as a contract goes? It would blow our "structure" with the home grown talent out of the water.

I don't like the idea of sacrificing pitching for a bat like Judge. What did he do in the playoffs?
Astros won the WS because they brought in one shutdown stud after the other in the playoffs. You can upgrade over Diaz and Yuli with much cheaper options and keep your rotation and pen juiced.

Part of Judge's problem in the playoffs is he had no real protection in the Yankees lineup and he's swinging for the fences. Imagine him hitting cleanup. Sandwiched between Yordan and Tucker.
That would be erotic. It won't happens but the rest of the league should be worried it might.

Other than signing a Jose Abreu to a 2-$36M deal or similar, maybe up to 2-$40M

And then focusing at the trade deadline on a big splash to address what we need after 3 months of baseball. I want to go big after whatever is our big missing piece
I'd be completely fine with rolling with what we have and seeing what we get out of the young players
