This was a last place, horrible team in '21. Were some of you seriously expecting three FA signings to change it into a contender?
Pieces.of.the.puzzle. It's not a finished product yet. Hearn, Otto, Bush and others aren't likely to be with the Rangers when they are ready to contend. Semien & Seagar aren't a concern at this point, and I think they'll turn their seasons around. I would also add that having another consistent bat or two in the lineup that other teams have to worry about with make their numbers go up as well.
If you skim back a bunch of pages, there were a bunch of us who said before the season that this wasn't a contending team. Quite frankly, they've overperformed IMO. To be this close to a .500 club is a minor miracle. Going from worst to first is an anomaly, not a reasonable expectation.
At least we're getting to see tighter, better games on most days. Last season most of the games were over by the 4th inning.
