That's the case with every person that has years bought out. Player takes more money now yearly rather than more overall by having to wait.

Right, but buying out Arbitration years for <20 M doesn't seem great. Tucker would only need to get offered something like 3/75 after arbitration to match a 6/115 deal. When in reality, assuming no major downfalls, will get 6/150 (Springer deal) or better. So if you want to get 3 more years of prime, you have to pay for those prime years.

May not be a popular opinion but I would let verlander walk and use the money to sign Rizzo. Nothing against JV or what he has meant to Houston, but we have 6 good young pitchers and he will cost a ton. Not sure he can hold up at 40

I posted something similar several weeks back. I think people would be against it if he was better in the postseason.

The good thing about Verlander is you can probably sign him on 1 year deals which gives us a lot of flexibility - especially with the structure of a lot of our contracts expiring in '24.

Do we know if anyone has ever hit a HR up over the batters eye where Yordan's landed?

I wanna say I remember Bagwell hitting one up there but not sure.
