Shut up. He's at the fight. I bet Lance is there too.
He’s 3-for-3 with a home run so far today.

I was in favor of the JV deal at the time but it is interesting we are willing to give mega bucks for 2 years to a 36 year old pitcher (the most injury prone position) but won't go 8 years on a guy who is 27. I get that the length is a risk but any pitcher is a risk and every year of wear and tear adds to that risk. The fact that they haven't had a serious injury in the past isn't really relevant. A torn UCL seems to come for them all.

Report is out on an Astros 5 yr offer to Carlos Correa but as I wrote on Click2Houston after the Game 6 loss, MLB sources had told me the latest #'s they said were on the table: 6 yrs/210 million (35m avg/yr). No comment fr #Astros on those talks. @KPRC2https://t.co/AvCAYqnIts

You're speculating on how the insurance works (did it cover 100% for both years?) and excluding the cost of whatever premium they had to pay for a 36 year old arm with 3,000 innings. Not to mention the very real impact it had on our luxury tax calculations that altered our approach to free agency. It was a costly decision. As I said, I was in favor of it at the time, I am simply saying it was definitely risky.
The only way 6/210 is remotely possible is if there are opt outs (that favor Correa). Otherwise, no way he signs a 6 year contract when there will be teams offering 10-12 years.Ag_07 said:
I think 6/210 is pretty good for both sides.
Throw in some opt outs and let's do the damn thing.

If he signs with the Yankees that would be one of the most disgusting things I've seen.

Do you think he will get that though? That's a separate question.
The Astros as an organization understand the importance and value of Carlos Correa and what he means to what they’ve built. Carlos absolutely WANTS to be in Houston. This is a NEGOTIATION. Gonna have to give it a little time to play out.

Reported $160M, 5-year offer from Astros to free agent Correa likely halts further discussion w/Houston. Consider Jose Altuve got $151M and 5 years through age 34 when he was TWO years from free agency. Astros reported bid would have only taken Correa through age 31. Non starter.

How is Story any more of a mercenary than Carlos? If anything Carlos is more of a mercenary. Story might (understandably) want to get out of a situation where he's only gotten to play in five postseason games. Carlos could hardly find a better situation to win championships in.MaxPower said:
I'd be interested in what Click's thoughts are about Story. His home / road splits are pretty extreme but he's solid defensively and a great baserunner. I still think if you are gonna pay big money it's for your guy and not a mercenary.
