Tie game. The ball is flying out of the Trop tonight.
Kiki freaking Hernandez with his 9th overall in the playoffs.

Yep. The 'Stros might be able to find a SS out there to match Carlos' regular season numbers at the plate but he definitely comes up big in the postseason (Springer did also).. Not that Correa has ever even been average in the field but where he has improved the most is his play is in the field. If he decides to go elsewhere, I think we will miss his glove more than his bat at least in the regular season.redline248 said:
...and we figure to be a playoff team for how many years to come?

I really want this group of players to overtake these Yankees. Springer will probably get back to the postseason, but it's not guaranteed. Tuve & Bregman will be back. TED & Yordan are really just getting started. Yuli's time is running out. Carlos is the wild card though. If he resigns then he's the guy most likely to own all the records.
I wouldn't sleep on Chicken & Push Ups making some noise too. He's so damn young and been so damn good in the playoffs. Plus the Rays look to be regulars in October too.
He already set the single-postseason record for HR last year with 10.

You must have never heard that Juan Soto is only 21.

Seems like with Verlander and Greinke money coming off the books you could give him the overall number he wants but front load the next couple of years and taper down the contract so we're not hamstrung at the end

I haven't minded using the closer with the spacing of the games. We have to get the W's and I would rather not wait to bring them in when the bases are juiced or something.Farmer1906 said:
I am going to say it. And I mean it. Dusty has done a good job thru 2 games.
My only real issue is burning your closers with large leads. I would have liked to maybe let Javier get a multi-inning closeout, but we don't have a ton of great options. Especially when Framber is done so early.
I didn't mind using Pressly in the 8th either b/c of the part of the lineup coming up vs what was due up in the 9th either.
If it was a 5-4 game with Pressly coming in everybody would've like it (or I would've) and that's what he was warming for
Exactly. I want Pressly facing 5-6-7 in the 8th. Let Graveman take 8-9-1. Assuming it's close.
