regarding Bregman...still a long way to go in the season...

but his 2021 OPS (.803) is nearly identical to his 2020 OPS (.801)

two stats jump out quickly from his great 2019 season:

2019 ---> 119 walks & 9 GiDP's

2021 ----> 29 walks & 10 GIDP's (already)

With Bregman, don't forget that he usually starts slow (relative to his standards anyway) and finishes strong. In 2019, he finished July with an OPS around .900, then OPS'd 1.235 in Aug and 1.239 in Sept.

Hopefully he keeps doing well. Would be huge to have a major league catching prospect ready to take over in '23 when Maldy and Castro are done here

Scheduled our trip to Cleveland over July 4th weekend to watch the Astros. Will catch a Tigers- White Sox game while up there as well. Looking forward to seeing a couple of new stadiums. Anyone been to either of these?

Honestly, I'm glad for the guy. He had quite a legacy to live up to. Even if everyone said they weren't going to compare him to his old man, secretly they were, especially when he started off slow.

Happy to see him start to make his own way. For his sake, I hope he continues it. He's fun to watch.

Cleveland is a fun park on the weekend. Had a real good time there.

Not really Astros related but the Dodger/Philly game is on for me and the zone for the Dodgers is about as bad as I have seen all year. It's like their playing the Astros and if it's within 4" of the strike zone, it's a strike.

The sunscreen thing is beyond dumb. If they're gonna do that, remove the rosin bag altogether. Pitcher gets a little accidentally together, he gets tossed. Enjoy your skin cancer pitchers!

Like everything mlb tries to do, this will turn into a massive cluster and laughingstock.
