It's very clear our guys have a very good eye for position player talent, not many misses there. Not so much pitching.
Im guessing pitchers are just harder to evaluate.

1 was a huge bust (Appel)
1 was used a trade bait and almost won us a WS (JB)
1 TBD but it's not looking great (Whitley)
Even if the first rounders don't work out we've developed some serious talent at the position other ways.

And the Aiken debacle was rough
I think our bread and butter is drafting position players, and then getting pitchers with intl signings and trades. Id say our front office is the at the top of MLB when it comes to international signings
Astros sent a survey about social distancing. Looks like they're considering no social distance, 3', 6', or you don't plan on going regardless. All options included masks.
That was rough but ultimately correct. It directly lead to us getting Bregman too.

It's not a home run ace type. It cause drawbacks with the luxury tax, but this shows were serious about contending this year. Can't go into the season with holes in the rotation like we have.
Probably means we have very little wiggle room for a possible deadline move but I'm all for this
I'm not sure how incentives play into AAV and luxury tax calculations. I'm sure there is some room, but if Valdez comes back mid-season, then that's an equivalent "trade" outcome of bolstering the rotation. We've seen Crane be willing to put in money when the team is competitive in the past, and he might do that this year.bearkatag15 said:

Odorizzi in place of Javier is an upgrade. Not not in place of Framber. Framber of last year is a solid #2 starter IMHO.
