Depends on if any of them feel the need to fan the flames and go scorched earth. If Cora gets a lifetime ban, he may decide to spill it all.

But does Cora want to be viewed in that light? Kind of like how Canseco spilled all the beans on the steriod era and seemed like baseball ostracized him that. Would the same happen to Cora even though he would be under a lifetime ban?

Think what you want of Jessica Mendoza's commentary in the booth on ESPN, but just look how the Bay Area media tries to spin her comments.

She makes good points, basically calling Fiers a ***** for ratting out the Astros.

Also Tells me the clubhouse isn't looking to bail - they know they were targeted and not doing anything everyone else was doing. They are gonna play with the biggest chip on their shoulder. Time to rake!

This was always going to be the case. We folded and basically gave him what he wanted to avoid going to arbitration. I'm not sure who would lead it without a GM anyway.

Ideally he needs to hire the new GM and then let the GM hire the Manager. But due to the time crunch what he should do is hire Espada as an interim. Then hire the GM, who then can evaluate Espada over the season and then decide if he wants to go in a different direction or take the interim tag off.

Buck, Bruce, and Dusty will still be available next year if that is really who the new GM would want.

A couple interesting notes from the latest Section 10 (Red Sox) podcast earlier:

-Red Sox fans are about as pissed at Fiers as we are. A's go to Fenway August 14-16.

-Passan was on with them for about 10 minutes. He said he's expecting the Red Sox to receive punishment similar to the Astros (max fine and two years of lost draft picks). Just thinks the real crime is disobeying the commissioner. He also doesn't think the MLB will conduct any further investigations unless there's media reports that can't be ignored. Sad.

Passan has been pretty plugged in with the commish office over the past few months so it's likely he's got some inside info. Just thought I'd post.

It just seems like such an inept long term strategy to me. MLB has an opportunity right now to clean it up once and for all. Instead they're just going to ride along and be reactive as more reports eventually trickle out. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but the further we get away from this, the more guys will become disgruntled with former teams, or have conscience clearing moments, or whatever the case may be, and decide to call Evan Drellich and open the lid on more allegations. This strategy just seems to unnecessarily keep the problem lingering into perpetuity.

The more I see the more I think Manfred and MLB handled this all wrong. Instead of the hardcore stance which is the polar opposite of the steroid period they could have cleaned it up by simply stating no live technology can be used and no live electronic sign information can be captured or used. Beyond that all sports use delayed stuff so just let it go. Lay out penalties going forward so that it's clear.

I've been afraid that the Commissioner's report omitted our 2019 violations in exchange for full cooperation from Crane. Hope the buzzer stuff isn't true...
