Clase looked good.

Around the plate with top end velocity. Can't beat that. Seemed like a couple were really corked right down the middle, but at triple digits you can probably get away with that more than other guys.

So sick of watching Elvis fail in the 3 spot with risp.

I believe today for the first time ever I find myself going for both the Yankees and the Cardinals.

The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you never know if they are genuine. -- Abraham Lincoln.

Well not a bad way to start a month with a sweep. If we still want a chance at the wild card we're gonna have to come through strong in August because our September schedule doesn't leave a lot of room for error.

I kinda like Murph in the booth, but he's not a natural up there. Still getting comfortable

It really seems like he is going to replace somebody at the end of the year the way it's going.

Yeah, he's getting some serious extended time. I'd actually like to hear how he and CJ would mix, with CJ taking PBP (seems like he can handle it). I like the analytics aspect that CJ brings, and think they could bring some great insights playing off each other.

Yay we are bringing in Leclerc to save the game leading 1-0 in the 9th.

That looked foul? Also LeClerc just isn't showing he's a closer.

It's pretty obvious they're transitioning CJ out of his role to me. I think Raymond and Murph will be the team next year.

Whew! Forsythe bout threw the game away. Nice dig by Odor there.

Hopefully that save will give Leclerc some much needed confidence. Helluva job getting out of that.

And just when you think they're tucking tail and mailing it in, they rattle off 5 in a row.

A little late here but I was at the game Saturday night and the emotions of the game and the crowd were legit. If you think getting drilled in the ribs followed by hitting a walk off oppo bomb to win the game doesn't allow for a little admire and bat drop, then you should probably stop watching baseball and go to your safe space.

LeClerc in the 8th, Clase in the 9th

I honestly think the trade deadline really messed with their heads especially Minor.

Good night for the Rangers. Beat the Indians and the Rays and A's both lose.

Couldn't agree more. Expecting to be buyers, then rumors leaves doubt on why compete....

Now that its over, I'm guessing they will go back to the 90 win team pace they were on before the break.

A 1-0 win is my favorite kind of baseball game. For both teams - no errors, only three BBs, 18 Ks. Game lasted 2:49. Nice.

Interesting....
The Dodgers are an enigma.

They went out and signed lots of Int'l players... one year spending $40M in signings and penalties. They signed 9 of the Top 25, that year.

https://grantland.com/the-triangle/los-angeles-dodgers-international-spending-guide-yadier-alvarez/

So, they are stocked. Blow through your spending, then get limited for 2 years... then blow through your spending again.

Then, the Dodgers sold their Int'l money for prospects.

They also have signed and when they traded players have sent cash along with the player.

Dodgers are currently paying for 2019:

Matt Kemp - $3.5M from 2016-2019.
Homer Bailey - Was released before the season, Dodgers paid $22.45M

So, money is no limit and they have done everything they can to stock themselves.

Since the Rangers didn't play, I had some time.

I'm surprised Lou Whitaker isn't in the HoF.
I'm also surprised to see how many played for Det.

Kinsler a HOFer? Good lord man...

Your value of the past 2 Rangers 2nd baseman is way overinflated.

Newly acquired Kolby Allard to start Friday for the Rangers against Milwaukee.

Brock Burke bumped from AA to AAA as well.

Shawn Kelly also activated from the IL.

Ian Kinsler did/does everything "good." Which has led to a very nice career.

It doesn't feel like he's done enough that he'll garner a lot of Hall of Fame interest.

And if he plays out his contract in San Diego, his BA, et. al. is just going to go down even more.
