On a different discussion: Why was Lance Lynn not considered for the ASG? He is tied for first in Wins in MLB and is probably one of the best 15-20 pitchers in MLB this year. Minor is getting all the play b/c of the CGs and other stats that are some of the best in the league as well. I'm not taking anything away from Minor because he certainly deserves the consideration. But, you could argue that Lynn is having a better season.
Funny side note: I've been to 3 Rangers games this season and completely by chance, Lance Lynn has started all of them. He is 2-1 in the games we've been to. Almost went last night and when I saw Lynn on the mound I commented that it would have been appropriate if we had gone.
It appears we need to raise money to get you to more games.
Regarding Lynn...
Minor has a 2.54 ERA, which is absolutely incredible. Lynn has been equally effective, even with an inflated 3.91 ERA. The difference is Lynn has had to continually try to bring his ERA down, which distracts from what he is doing.
He opened the season with a 5.1 IP, 7 ER game. Take that out and his ERA is 3.54 (T13 with Shane Bieber-Cle)
He had a stinker @Oak (his 5th GS) where he gave up 8ER in 3.1. IIRC, it was a game he was left in, to chew innings.
Take out those 2, 8.2 IP, 15 ER, and he is at 2.96 (6th in the AL) for his other 16 GS.
In fact, since his 5th GS, he is 3.09 in his last 13 GS.
