I think the key tonight is patience. Glasnow has never pitched a game like this (especially not on the road in an elimination game against a lineup like ours) and, though he has great stuff, he doesn't have consistent command. We need to work him deep into counts and force him to make clutch pitches on 2-1, 2-0, 3-1 to get back into counts. He was generally able to do so in game 1 but we'll see tonight.
Hinch already said in his presser yesterday that there wouldn't be any major changes to the lineup. In fact he said the only change would be Maldy catching instead of Chirinos. He also said Yordan was still hitting 5th. So that basically cements Brantley in the 2/3 spot.gigemJTH12 said:
what are our thoughts on Brantley?
at a minimum I would like to see him moved down to 7.
He is 0-8 against Glasnow.
He did have two good swings to end last game but hes still on a bad streak. Vs a guy who clearly has his number.

I tend to lean the other way.
I think we need to pounce early. Get him early in the count when he's trying to sneak that FB by for a strike.
They're gonna yank him early so working counts to drive up pitch count isn't a priority. The longer we let him hang around and wait for a mistake the better chance is he gets pulled before he makes it and they start with their matchup in and out BP shuffle strategy that keeps us guessing.
Hit the FB early in counts and put up some runs before the swapping starts and let Cole do his thing with a lead.
good points. I just want guys on base for 2 and 27Ag_07 said:
Honestly I kinda like him in the 2 spot
If he gets it on track awesome. If not then he doesn't end an inning and still has Altuve behind him to pick him up.
You put him down at 7 then you run the risk of the 7/8/9 being a black hole not turning the lineup over.
