A lot depends on your smart TV. If you have a Roku device it's easy. Go to overplay.net. they have a free trial and setup instructions. It costs about $5 month.

Search for Unlocator or YonderTV on the interweb. Sign up with one of them and follow their instructions. I personally use YonderTV with the MLB app on Apple TV and have been pleased with it for 2 seasons now.
I'm using unlocator.
