it was going to be Straw or Kemp and I thought the fact Straw had options left would keep Kemp on the roster.
Best players on the team. Straw is more valuable than Kemp at this point. I would hate to see the team lose him though... I really like Kemp.

Since we have 7 days to trade Kemp and the deadline is in 6...seems to make sense if he's a part that Luhnow is really trying to trade right?
I always thought Kemp would be part of any trade for a SP or RP....he's the odd man out in our roster with the season Straw is having
Sucks for Tony as he seems like a great guy, good attitude, and solid work ethic.

DFAing Kemp? Wow. That one is rough. I admit I don't get it. I was fully in the cut Tubby camp (and even so didn't think Lunhow would do it). Cutting Kemp I don't understand. Not when you can move Straw down. And its only a month until rosters are expanded.

Yeah, this leads me to think that Kemp is going to be traded. This is also one less movement that Straw makes, keeping more options open for the future.

If he knows he has a trade in the works that includes Kemp then he can DFA him and have 7 days to finalize while Correa comes back and Straw stays on the big league club.

Makes it clear to the world we're open for business. Find a decent offer and send Kemp along. I wish him the best.
Overall I'm happy for Kemp. He's a guy who is undersized and has performed at every level nearly. He is probably good enough to start on at least 10 other rosters. I'm happy he'll have a chance to do that with another team, and get paid. He deserves the chance.
