WAA is wins above average. WAR is wins above replacement. White has a bWAA of -1.0 and and a bWAR of -0.4. So he's costing 1 win against an average player and "only" costing 0.4 wins again a AAA player. Basically he's bad. Fat and bad.

Verlander is clearly having issues lately. Is he terrible? No. But since his start on June 1st, he's had four average to below average outings. Allowed 7 HRs (3 each in back to back games), and hasn't held an opponent to less than 3 runs. ERA has ballooned from 2.16 to 2.67 (before tonight). Career high in HR/9, and a FIP all the way at 3.76.

That's solid for a #3 like Miley, but Verlander hasn't been pitching like an ace in June.

Thankfully the offense picked him back up in the bottom half.
