Probably was a hit and run. Altuve wouldn't have stopped if he was stealing.

And then I think just mental error when he realized it wasn't hit.

I fault the needlessly reckless base running. If Bregman strikes out you still have Brantley up next that could score in some runs.

But do you not think he poster has a bit of a point? His numbers with runners in scoring position haven't been super great. I will not complain about his RBI total, but to the poster's point, last year's Bregman at this time this year might be on pace for 120+ RBI.

Hinch can't win. We want him to run more to avoid GIDPs, but when we do run and this happens, we want him to stop running.

Jose Urquidy Looks like the next pitching option from Round Rock. He's pitching well since moving up to RR. Tonight he's through 5IP on 80 pitches with 5 hits, 0 ER, 8 Ks, 2 BBs and his season ERA in RR is 2.95. Lunhow has also said they expect him to be up at some point this season.

I still prefer the CS to the GIDP.

Listen, I ultimately do not disagree with any of what you guys are saying about Bregman. He's still having a great year.

This is just like with Altuve when he was hitting .323 or whatever and people were saying he needs to get up more on the plate to cover the outside part. Those criticisms were labeled as areas of improvement for Altuve.

I think that's what the other poster was trying to say, it's an area of improvement for Bregman. I think Alex would agree as well.

Love Dat Devo swagger off the mound, he just showed the Pirates whose boss by giving up two runs.

3-2 & 1 out with a hitter like Bregman and a good runner I prefer to send all day long.

Also in general I prefer the frustration of a CS and a "what if we had let the hitter hit?" over the frustration of a GIDP and "what if we had sent the runner?"
