Your 2019 leaders in WHIP:
1-Justin Verlander 0.81
2-Zack Greinke 0.94
5-Gerrit Cole 1.00

That's 6 starts in a 7 game series. Miley being the seventh.

Sanchez, McHugh, Peacock in the pen.

So, we are looking at this now?

SP: JV, GC, Greinke, Miley and Sanchez
RP: Osuna, Pressley, Biagani, Harris, McHugh, Peacock, Devo and Smith

(I think Rondon gets released, Sneed and Urquidy get sent down. If Astros keep Rondon, I could see them sending Devo down to work on some things.)

INF: Yuli, Altuve, Correa, Bregs, Diaz
C: Chirinos, Machete
OF: Springer, Reddick, Brantley, Yordan, Marisnick

I hope our guys know something we don't about Sanchez because he has sucked donkey balls this year. This thread will be miserable every fifth day.

I'm hearing conflicting things on the Greinke contract. Can anyone clear up full contract deals? Whats owed? How much we are responsible for? Options?

Ultimately, I think the only down side of trading these prospects is the Astros have used most their bullets this year. None of those guys projected to be elite players, and most had serious questions. End of the day, it just means we shouldn't expect any big trades next year. But i'm okay with that for Greinke

Sporttrac shows $12.5/year for five years starting in 2022 of deferred money. If that is right, he is owed more than $77 million.

Have you not learned to trust the Astros with under the radar pitchers yet?

Get bounce backs from Paulino and Martes, continue developing Josh James. There's 3 potential pieces. No star power.. but we still have a little in the tank.

Plus, nobody from this year's draft class left. Let's see who emerges.

Where do you see him helping out team right now?
As a headliner to a deal instead of Tucker. It seems like all other teams are focused on is Tucker, but Rojas's numbers are much better than Tucker's....and that's with significant sample size (200+ at bats). A lot of teams (Mets, Orioles, DBacks, etc.) could use a guy like that.
Well, at least the Diamondbacks agreed with me. Getting a pitcher off TJ surgery (Martin), touted but ineffective this year (JB), and Beer (can hit, but not field and still needs to prove it in AAA) means that Rojas is the headliner...proven AAA hitter who can hit and field.

I trust them more than anyone on this thread. I was commenting more on the outrageous overreactions here than on our staff.

Ok, so logistically, who moves to make room?

Maldanado spot is opened up by trading Stassi
Grienke spot is opened by optioning Urkeeding
Biagini for Devo?
Sanchez for ???

What happens when Peacock comes back?

So our playoff rotation is #1, #1, #1 and realistically a #2 in Miley, plus we added relief arms. And the Yankees got stiffed for anyone and the Dodgers got stiffed for a needed reliever. I'm still trying to process that concept.

Sanchez is a former first round pick. He was an all-star in 2016. He also led the AL in ERA that year.

I think he is a reclamation project who Strom can work with.

Rojas and Beer were going to be blocked at the MLB level. We can always find a 1B in FA if Yuli breaks down.

JB hurts, but Martin is replaceable.

We stole this trade. Holy hell.

I think it's definitely a good deal for us but we are dealing from a position of strength. 1B/3B/OF bats and arms. The bats are remotely blocked and we still have Urquidy, Armenteros, and Valdez (that dude can still be ok)
