0 chance I'd give up Tucker for Boyd, but Boyd is exactly the kind of arm we need to add.

True but you can work around that. I think it's becoming more likely that we're going to pay Springer. Straw is looking more and more like a major leaguer. If our 2021 starting outfield is Alvarez-Straw-Springer, that's not bad.

Also, Reddick and Brantley will be 33-34 years old at that point, so it's possible (if not probable) that they'd take team friendly contracts to stick around.

Yeah I wouldn't mind dealing Tucker if you plan on signing George.

Although I'm not sure I'd do it for Boyd.

I wonder if Lunhow considers fan reaction when deciding on a player. Springer has to be priority #1 to retain, if so.

He does, primarily. But it's because he can't play anywhere else due to lack of athleticism and arm strength. Just keep hitting, though, and they'll make a spot for you somewhere. Just tough when you already have a guy like that in Alvarez.

Some positives on Boyd are that this doesn't look like a fluke.

ERA - 3.72 is higher than FIP 3.57 & xFIP 3.50.
wOBA - .331 is higher than xwOBA .316

If anything he may be slightly better in the 2nd half.

Yeah but doesn't seem like there's any hurry to get Alvarez to play first, so Beer could eventually take over once Yuli's contract up.
