Just hand him a link to this thread. Tell him it's the best Astros dialog around and that he can gain a lot of managerial expertise from it. And ask him to pass it along to Luhnow for advice on personnel decisions. He can thank us later.

Thoughts on this? If you are including Verlander and Randy Johnson on this list then Clemons has to be on here. Also Marwin as the #9 all time Astros is hilarious to me. My top 10 would be:

1. Altuve (best all around offensive player ever to wear an Astros uniform)
2. Bagwell
3. Biggio
4. Oswalt
5. Berkman
6. Clemons
7. Verlander (reserve the right to drop him to outside the top ten if he tanks this season)
8. Wagner
9. Caminiti
10. Kile

I still put the killer Bs in the top 3

Altuve at 4, Oswalt at 5

Altuve will get there quickly, I'd say 2 more elite seasons and he's there

It's an inexact science to weigh longevity vs consistent elite ness. But I'd still say Biggio as of now over altuve

Unpopular opinion here, but I'd put Adam Everett in at 20...only because the comments Roy Oswalt constantly made about his defense. His brilliance with the glove was overlooked in an era before advanced metrics really became a thing.

His glove wasn't overlooked. He made it and stuck around because of it. He's far from the top 20. Maybe top 50. Probably not.

What I meant was he should have won multiple gold gloves (aka award for best hitting fielder who sometimes makes plays that look spectacular because they have poor range)

If what Hernandez said got AJ that fired up, it must have been pretty bad given how calm he always is. I hope there's some recourse that could lead to Hernandez finally being kicked to the curb. I know it's wishful thinking, but...

On another note, you had Angel Hernandez behind the plate and CB Bucknor at first. Are they trying to group all the worst umpires together on one crew? Was that fat piece of **** Joe West at second?
