Astros control Jake freely until sometime in May I thought I heard
After that certain date, he can then refuse assignment

This is right. He has an option remaining, but 40 days more on the 25 man & he will reach 5 years of MLB service time, which gives him the right to decline an option.astros4545 said:

Peacock is one of the best #5 starters the organization has ever had.
Quoted from 1/29. Still applies.k20dub said:

All of that is true, but every team is in that same boat. Last year's team is the first I can remember that had depth like what we had...and ironically we didn't need to use it until August, and even barely then, and our organization is so deep that Framber & James were even better than the guy they replaced.AustinCountyAg said:
What if Colin is hurt and out for an extended time? Does that make Brad P the #4?....no offense but imo that is not a good sign for us if so.
I've said it multiple times and I think we really need to make a run at Dallas, if not at least another veteran who can take up space until the trade deadline/FW gets called up etc....
What happens (god forbid) if Justin V, or Gerit gets hurt and is out an extended time? You can NEVER have enough pitching. Never Ever
Good thing it's not the other way around.Ag_07 said:
2016-2018 Peacock is a stud of a #5 starter
2013-2015 Peacock is a scary #5 starter

All that said, I would still like to sign Dallas but maybe upgrading at DH and/or 1b would help us just as much for cheaper.
