So I assume if Jake doesn't show as a consistent major leaguer this year that Straw is going to fill the 4th outfielder/defensive replacement role starting next year?
Straw could definitely make Jake expendable
real pitches or warm up just throwing bp type thing?

Correa needs to stay healthy and really focus this year. He is by far the best mix of talent and potential only rivaled by Machado who is older. Lindor is great, but Correa has potential to be so much more.
But I don't have any faith Correa ever sees his full potential. Between health and lack of focus through long spurts, I just don't see it. This is a big year for Carlos.

So awesome that Whitley has the opportunity to pick pick the brain of JV and Nolan. Hope he learns what they have done to keep a workhorse status for such a long time.

I agree with picking their brains but there is no learning to achieve their longevity. You're either blessed with that or not.
There are genetics involved, no doubt. I would assume there are still things he could do, not just healthwise, on how to prolong a career as a power pitcher. Ways to pitch batters, secondary pitches and how to use them, etc. There could also be a regimen to aid with health (heavy use of legs when pitching).
i'm excited for Marwin, i'll get to see him a lot this year at Target Field

Because he's not even a top-10 position player...and now he's about to be the highest paid position player in baseball. That's one reason why. The Rockies paid a heavy premium to keep him out of free agency next offseason. He wouldn't have commanded that much on the open market where most teams would have been focused on his home-road splits. But rather than risk losing him, they overpaid for him.Thriller said:

I guess to them, it was worth it. But, his career slash line away from Coors is .263/.318/.469. Is that irreplaceable? In Bregman's short career, his road slash line is .283/.362/.517. Bregs has to love seeing a deal like this.
MLB network had him in the top 5 in all of MLB players so.... yeah.
