There's a guy that seems to overachieve every year for the Astros, why not Jake.

With Jake's offensive emergence, I have to think Luhnow called Boras and rescinded his offer to Harper. And with Jake patrolling CF all season (too good to keep out of the lineup everyday), Springer can move RF full time, which paves the path to deal Reddick and save another $13 million that we can use for help at the deadline. And with Tucker in left and Jake in center, crazy to think that Springer is now our worst offensive outfielder.

Everyone who follows the team closely knows Tucker and Jake will be too good offensively (and defensively) to keep off the field on opening day. Brantley will be just fine raking at DH with some 1B mixed in.

On Collin McHugh's podcast (which is great, btw), it sounds incredibly obvious that Cole's preference is to be in SoCal.
It is where he has lives most of his life and lives in the off-season. Angels or Dodgers feels likely to me.

There have been plenty of people from Texas that prefer it here over Cali or the east coast too.

That makes sense if you are average Joe with a 5-figure salary in TX vs. CA and the state tax and cost of living make a significant change in what your lifestyle can be, but Cole already makes more in a season than most of us will in a lifetime and he's in line to double that in a couple of years. Cost of living & taxes won't change his life even a little bit. You can't blame him for wanting to be near family and friends and when you're in that tax bracket the Southern California teams are easily in the top 10 of best MLB cities to live in regardless of where you're from.Mr.Bond said:

Great to watch some Astros baseball today! Lot of guys that I need to read up on- not that we'll hear from them for a year or two, but will be fun to follow their progression in the minors.
