The opposite is getting talent back for him along with getting some, if not all, of his salary covered. Just dumping a guy and getting nothing but some of his salary covered is still a pennies-on-the-dollar situation. Just a few more pennies.

There are very few teams with consistent catching, IMO.PWestAg18 said:
It amazes me how our catcher situation has been a revolving door for the last 10 years. Some have been good, some have been bad. There's just never been a set of 3-4 years of consistency at the position.

As horrible as Chirinos has been... he is now listed as day-to-day.
Insert Juan Centeno - a 28 year old... career .232 hitter who is... **wait for it** A left-handed bat. **cough**
This his 6th MLB season, has achieved the height of 55 GP with Minnesota back in 2016. He is listed as 5'9"/195.
Speaking of Bengie Molina... what is he doing these days.

Choo wRC+ prior to signing with Rangers w/Indians and Reds - 150, 134, 145, 106, 130, 150
Choo wRC+ w/Rangers - 101, 128, 105, 107
And, just for example, in those 105 and 107 seasons w/Rangers above...OBP was above 350. His contract was only money well spent if you think 7 for 130 should get you just barely above league average value in terms of batting. Also just a reminder that he's been a butcher in the field and has to be DH'd in hopes he doesn't get hurt.
Probably a bad signing...probably bad ROI.

ouch..... A's pitcher done. Nailed on the leg by Odor smash.
edit... he's staying in. surprised
I think his debut was against the Rangers in a day game against Colby Lewis... when Lewis had that great game.aggietony2010 said:That A's pitcher is Daniel Mengden, who played for the Ags 4-5 years back.I drove bus said:

I'm taking the under on 7.1 IPDallasAg 94 said:
Perez looks like he has spent some time at the Buffet with Bartolo Colon.
I was going to predict 7.1 IP, 3H, 1 ER, before the game started, but had to take care of business before I could post..
Day game after a night game... Oakland (P park).
We heard so much from Raymond how Perez has stepped up into the leadership role... I'm pretty jazzed.

Unfortunately I had to go do carpool.bigcat22 said:
reading the box score to catch up, any idea why Elvis tried (unsuccessfully) to steal third with one out in the fourth. Why must we run ourselves out of potential big innings like this

June 1st lineup hope:
Elvis 6
Calhoun 7
Beltre 5
Gallo 9
Guzman 3
Chirinos 2
Mazara DH
Odor 4
Delino 8
Trade Choo & Mazara for any SP we can get then move Robinson to LF & Calhoun to DH. I would be happy with seeing that play out.
His range? Dude ran the ball down into the bullpen and fielded it cleanly with the backhand. I think this could be the start of something special for him.gigem1223 said:
No one has ever questioned his arm, it's his range that is lacking.
