You probably don't hear about it between Red Sox and Yankees fans because its not near as lopsided. There isn't a H2H as lopsided in baseball history as with Texas vs Houston. It's absolutely relevant and probably why Houston fans downplay it and play it off like it's nothing.

Anyone listen to TAG last night about teams retiring numbers? I got the feeling he was taking jabs at certain franchises by saying some franchises retire numbers of really good players, but maybe not great players.

See atros and their 9 retired numbers, despite only have 2 hall of famers.

I honestly interpreted it as TAG laughing about the Rangers going to the other extreme, not that it was a bad thing that anyone did differently. He also spent an inning talking about wanting to time travel to be a 50s greaser so you have to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Honestly, Ranger fans don't spend much time thinking about the H2H record. Most don't even know what it is. It's really only relevant in regards to the idiocy of TexAgs and this thread.

When Astros fans talk about how crappy a franchise the Rangers are; the H2H record suddenly becomes relevant. You may not have posted about the Rangers sucking as a franchise, but many other Astros fans did all while their team was losing at an incredible rate over the last decade.

The reality is that both franchises have largely been pretty mediocre over their respective existences.

You would never know by listening to the rangers fans on here that their pathetic team is 15.5 games back and is losing the season series vs the Astros...
