If/when they realign, they should go ahead and add the DH to the NL, too. I'd say remove it from both leagues, but the MLBPA would never let that happen. And I will say that my favorite thing about the move to the AL is not having to watch the pitcher kill a rally. This thread is moving up the list, though.

This would rob us of a large portion of what makes the Mike Hamptons and Zack Greinkes of baseball so amazing. Shut down the opposing offense from the mound, then launch one into the bleachers to give themselves some run support.

That's one thing both fan bases can agree on. With the realignment necessary, the DH would definitely have to be added to both leagues which could be tough to pass.

They are excited because it was teetering on the brink of a lost season (especially after Hamels was put on the shelf) and a week and a half later they have one of the wildcard spots.

Rangers, Astros, Chi Sox and Royals would be an awesome division. You could also go the other way and reshuffle some expansion teams to put us in a division with the D-backs and Rockies.

Anything to keep us from having to play 9:05 games in ****ing Oakland.
Screw that. Send the Brewers to the AL and let Houston back in it's natural spot playing the Cardinals, Cubs, and Reds.

I'd say that too if my team were 26-54 vs the Rangers since joining the AL West

Previous game? You mean win #30. Yeah we were the first to 30 as well. Best record in baseball.

Congratulations, you racked up a lot of wins against a team that spent a couple of seasons tanking.

You measure yourself against Daddy.

Daddy measures itself vs the rest of the league.

This is why you'll always be "little brother" in the rivalry.

Considering how much you Arlington fans puff your chests out, you'd think you actually do. You see, the difference between us is that you'll continue to bang the series dominance drum, while we'll gladly lose every game to you as long as we got to the end goal.

Which you have yet to do. But hey..... keep hanging those AL West division champs in May. We'll keep hanging them in October.

No, you won't. For a pretty long time.

Unless your front office gets smart and tanks, but I've been assured that this front office is too high of moral character to do that.

We're talking two different things here. Selling players at the deadline is one thing. Tanking on the level your front office did for several years is another. And you still had to go out and make several free agent signings to have the roster you do this year. You don't have to run with a glorified double AA team to rebuild.

Maybe you should have. You wouldn't be stuck depending on a mediocre strike out machine who's lone achievement is punching a player, a power hitter who can barely scrape the Mendoza line, and two outfielders who we threw away.

You forgot the catcher who they paid a very high price for who also happens to suck at catching.

And?

It worked. It was extremely effective. The goal was to create a championship roster and replenish a depleted farm system in the most efficient way possible and it worked in spades.

Ya'll look profoundly ignorant about the way baseball works making such a big deal about this. "How dare ya'll do something to build your team into a top of the line franchise that worked so well."

Trust me on this. Once the Rangers front office realizes that the current iteration is on it's last leg, it will likely do something similar. The quicker it does it, the less amount of seasons it will take. One of the reasons it took as long as it did for the Astros is uncle Drayton kept trying to slap together a mediocre team for years after the 2005 World Series. Once you realize your team is no longer a true contender (something the Rangers are quickly approaching) it behooves you to start thinking of the future as early as possible.

Lone achievement? The guy batted .271 with 33 bombs last year. Yeah, he's started off slow, as has a good portion of our team, but bringing him up like he's only there because it's a down year is moronic.

Napoli has been trending up of late after an atrocious start.

And as for your throw away players, one is currently batting 294 and the other is at 246 and moving up before he got hurt.

Now the bullpen has been undeniably atrocious and sucked hard last night. If you want to make an argument for what's killing this team so far, that's it. The offense has been surprisingly decent despite several players starting ice cold.

You talk like anybody has said there's no such thing as a rebuild. All anyone has actually said is that you don't have to suck as bad as you guys did for as long to do it. That's it.

The obsession with the past continues.

No one gives a crap about what Reach-Around Odor did last year or how bad the Astros were 5 years ago.

Truth is he sucks right now and the Astros are rolling while you're team is floundering around .500 and doing everything it can to not fall out of contention for a 2nd WC spot.
