With the starters looking like they are rounding into form and the OF a mess should we consider making a deal for an OFer?

Maybe one Josh Red**** or again the previously mentioned Jay Bruce

Play him in RF and move Springer to CF. I'd be OK with letting Tucker/Rasmus/Marwin platoon in LF until Gurriel steps in. Or even play Bregman in LF, Luis at 3B, and Marwin at 1B. Just keeps us from playing 2/3 OFers who can't hit worth a shlt.

It's a sellers market this year; who did you give up for Bruce? I'd freaking love 2016 Jay Bruce; but 2014-2015 Jay Bruce is pretty much Rasmus; .220 with 23 HR and 75 RBI

Why do you assume he isn't embarrassed? He definitely cares, and he's definitely pissed off.

As far as not changing his approach, I have nothing there. Only thought against it would be if management doesn't want him to for whatever reason.

He needs to put the freaking glasses back on and do something. He's absolutely killing us right now. Just awful.

I know Hinch and the staff does not agree with Gomez's flailing approach at the plate. I have heard Hinch repeatedly mention in interviews that it is hard to have consistency at the plate if taking out of control swings.

If we traded for Josh Red****, we'd need TexAgs to adjust the filters.

But I really don't want to stock the As with more prospects for another rental. I'd feel a little better about our chances to resign Bruce, but coming off a monster year, I'm not sure that's a wise investment, as he'll likely get paid more than he'll produce over the next five years.

If we can't trade for someone that's controllable, I'd rather keep our prospects and revisit the trade market this winter.

How about we just get around the filter like other folks. Josh Reddeek.

What kind of contract would Valbuena be looking for next year? I wouldn't mind signing him to a nice 1-year deal to be our first baseman next year as AJ Reed probably won't be ready to be everyday. With Gomez being gone, we need a nice bat flipper on our team.

Reed is 5-10 since being sent back down, including two doubles and a home run last night. I think he'll be ready. He got off to a slow start in AAA, but before being called up and now since going back down, he's been stroking it. He was probably called up a little early, but that wasn't a preview of things to come.

Also last night, Musgrove had another solid outing. He did walk a batter, though. It was just his tenth walk in 85 innings pitched.
