Don't understand throwing Trout anything over the plate in that situation, let alone a fastball in his wheel house. Take your chances with a hitter who hits into a ton of double plays (Pujols).

if you're a top member of the bullpen, it is completely unacceptable to let the 8 and 9 guys reach against you. That's how you get into trouble because then the 1-2-3 guys make you pay big time. Of course we find a way to **** the bed in a game like this
gigem1223

And another ground ball into the shift. Can't make this **** up.

Why not pinch run Elvis?

Why the **** is Fielder still on the base paths?!

Spectacular collapse by the boys tonight. Turn a 4-0 lead onto a 9-5 hole after knocking the starter out after 2 innings. Couldn't make this **** up.

Bad walks, bad defense, bad base running, bad approaches at the plate, bad management, this team is just bad right now. Hard to believe they still have the most wins in the AL. Banister, the leaders in the clubhouse, someone needs to slap some sense into this team.

A game like this would be a great moment for Banny to bench guys who aren't playing like they want it. Folder should be benched for a good amount of time, and odor should be replaced in the field with Profar. Make them earn their positions back.

Afraid it's not gonna get any better tomorrow with Lohse taking the mound.

Choo swings at first pitch down 4 runs as the lead off hitter. More smart baseball.

He's 2-2 with a 2 run shot. GTFO with this ****

And committed his 7th error in the last 13 games. No business playing 2nd base for a division leader if you can't field a ground ball. We can find .250 with an occasional homer from someone else until he figures out how to get his **** together defensively

.250 with an occasional homer?

Lmao. Try .270 and leads the team in homers. Chicken little.
Odor's defense is a liability. It was last year, it has been this year, and its gotten worse lately.

Against right-handed pitching, Profar has been every bit as productive and then a lot more than Odor.

There is no reason, at least with a right-hander on the mound, for Odor to see the field right now. Put his ass at DH over one of the hacks trying to scapegoat as a DH and let Profar play 2B.

I realize that Bannister wanted to get Elvis a night off, but this isn't a new thing. Odor needs to be given a message and get his head screwed on straight again.

I'll agree that his defense has gotten worse lately....along with the entire teams. Profar's 2b fielding percentage, albeit small, is right in line with Odors. You wanna call Odor out for poor defense but then forget about all the ridiculous defensive plays he has made this season and forget that he has helped turn a league leading amount of double plays. If
You wanna sit Odor for recent poor defense, then you better sit Beltre as well....if you wanna be fair.

This team is in a funk, that's just baseball. The last thing we need Banister doing is knee jerk reacting to a few poorly played games. These guys are major leaguers, not high schoolers. The best way for them to get back on track is to play.

My wife said it's like thay can't handle success...in a game or in a season. They seem to look at the score, or the standings, and say "oh crap!!" and then regress to the mean.

It's pretty surprising that they haven't had a team meeting, without the coaches yet. Maybe they have and it just hasn't leaked out. But we need some leadership.

Time for the leadership step up. We've only got a handful of guys left that were on the WS teams, and only 2, Hamels and maybe Lohse, that have won one. It's about past time for Beltre and the vets to step up.

Lohse, that have won one.

Kyle Lohse was chased after 3 innings in game 3, the same game Pujols went off. Lohse was scheduled to pitch game 7, but thanks to the rained out game, it allowed La Russa to comeback with Carpenter who shut us down. Wash had the opportunity to save the hot hand of Holland for game 7, but elected to go with "his guy" Matt Harrison. The choice was one of many baffling decisions by the Ranger manager. The rest is history and now my blood pressure has shot up about 10 notches just thinking about 2011

Team looks completely out of sync, hoped the ASB would reboot them a bit but apparently not.

As for the reason for the shift from what earned us the best record in the AL, I think once you go from playing loose knowing that every night you had a starter likely to give you 6-7 to going out there and having a guy that is just giving you 4-5 of 3-4 run baseball can get you out of a groove.

Whatever is happening I hope they can snap out of it soon. Only hope Is the starters can regain some of the first half form and get deeper into games

Go 12-0 and we have nothing to worry about

And it was a beautiful night in St. Louis the night of the "rain out".

Funny thing is, as bad as Texas looks right now and as hot as the Astros are, you almost wish we had a series against them right now just to possibly find some of our mojo again.

I've never been the wacky conspiracy theorist about anything, but in this case, I really do think the STL blue blood vs Ranger just-out-of-bankruptcy-slap****s blood factor played at least some role. Put it this way- if the situation was reversed, I think the game gets played.

Evan Grant just reported that Profar is going get outfield work starting today

Maybe Choo's back is worse than first thought or Mazara is going to be sent down? Interesting either way.

Quite a storm the Rangers are weathering. The last time we won and Houston lost was 6/26.

I think the thing that was so frustrating about last night is the Angels gave us a lot of opportunities to win that game, and we just kept matching bad baseball for bad baseball. Immediately tie it and then screw it up. There needs to be some kind of reset button pressed with this team.

Seems to have been that way for the better part of this skid we're on. Findings ways to beat ourselves. Whether it's walks, errors, and terrible base running....they're finding every way to lose.

I did NOT say sit Rougned Odor. So, lets get that one straight.

I'm calling him out for bad defense that has seen his fielding % fall to .968 at 2nd base while Profar's for the season is at .981 and was at .974 in the minor leagues. For comparison's sake, Odor's minor league fielding % was .966.

Odor's fielding percentage is worst in the league for any regular 2nd baseman in MLB. He had the worst fielding % last year, as well.

For all the "ridiculous defensive plays" and double plays, Odor also has the worst defensive WAR for MLB 2nd baseman.

And Profar has a significantly higher range factor, and has turned double plays at a higher rate than Odor did.

Beltre has been about the best in the league across the board defensively; this season and much of his career.

Yes, you let him play through a "funk."

It is with much pride that I announce the following lineup for tonight:

Choo DH
Desmond CF
Odor 2B
Beltre 3B
Moreland 1B
Rua LF
Mazara RF
Andrus SS
Chirinos C

No Fielder!! Huzzah! Can you guys even imagine the amount of balls we won't hit directly into the shift? What majesty! Such mystique!

Now, let's go out there and all collectively get our **** together!

Glad to see Fielder out of it. But I do wonder if the lineup swerving all over the road is taking any sort of toll.
