If Gallo is gone, that better mean we are getting someone like Sale or Archer.

IMO, Matt Moore nor Odorizzi is worth any package that includes Gallo

It hasn't been stated that he's having neck surgery. He's seeing a doctor to determine the course of treatment

Bring up Gallo. No Choo for a bit and we need someone to play 1st in spells and also in the outfield. This clears room for Profar in the lineup now though.

The current herniation is up one cervical level from his previous surgery, so it's a different location.

He's 32. Wouldn't surprise me if he chose retirement. Probably be the smart move for him healthwise.



ETA - Rangers designated hitter/first baseman Prince Fielder is facing season-ending neck surgery, according to the club. Fielder could have a C4-C5 herniation in his neck, one vertebrae above where he had surgery in 2014, the club said during a conference call.

I'm telling yall Gallo ain't ready, he's better than last year but he ain't ready yet.

I like waiting for callups. Hopefully we see Profar at 1st

Also really like adding Cashner. I bet the price is right

Hmmm. From what I understand, fusions do put more stress on the surrounding areas. If it's bad enough to need its own fusion, he has to be done.

Profar will be playing everyday now between DH and 1B. Delino and Hanser will be good bench players. Very versatile team. Much less likely Profar gets traded now IMHO. He's going to be an integral part of the lineup going forward if Fielder is out for the year.

I could see this surgery recovery time eating into next year. Especially if it appears that his current injury was caused or aggravated in any way from pressing to get back on the field too soon after his last procedure.

Having cervical disk bulging every couple of years isn't normal. Still think he's going to retire after making a token effort at a comeback.

Profar: 133 AB, 4 HR, .316 BA, .364 OBP, .451 SLG, .815 OPS - $509K
Choo: 123 AB, 7 HR, .260 BA, .372 OBP, .472 SLG, .844 OPS - $14M

We just upgraded Fielder with Delino, and substituted Choo with Profar.
