BREAKING NEWS: The Astros vs. Rangers game is currently in a delay. It should be a short delay. There is a fireworks stand and an Academy within 10 miles of the stadium. More balls and fireworks are on the way.

I'm glad y'all were able to experience what it feels like to be in first place for a little while. It's made this board a little more interesting now that a lot of yall have come out from hiding.

But Keuchel is going to remind y'all of your role in this state tonight, so I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted

Keuchel definitely reminded us of our role

Trash talking thread really isn't that much fun when the other team lays down.

Up until the 1st inning of last's night game I was just about to post about how evenly matched these teams are in overall record and in this series. It had been a great series with some good baseball games.

Then the HR Derby broke out and that theory got washed away.

Evenly matched except for that whole Astros being 4-8 against Texas coming into this series thing.

It was clear who the better team was coming into this series. The last 3 games just served to show the Astros fans what everyone else already knew - they aren't ready for big games down the stretch.

This will be the Rangers after taking a 0.5 game lead:

Sorry, I mistyped. I meant this is what the Rangers will do with a comfortable 1.5 game lead.

Better? You mean the Rangers team that wouldn't be playing .500 if they couldn't play the Astros, or the Astros that are still above .500 despite having a terrible record against the Rangers this season?

4-11 vs the Rangers this season and you think the Astros are better head to head?

Coming into the series yes you're correct. You guys had momentum on your side.

But the first two games were decided by 3 runs all of which came in the 8th or later. Just a couple plays decided the winner.

It had been a very competitive and intense series up until last night.

EDIT - I'm making no argument here about head to head records. That's dumb. No sane person can say that H2H we're better than these Rangers. Thankfully though it doesn't matter.

I believe his point was that the Astros are 4-11 against us, and that is not good. And goes to show they are not evenly matched.

Probably meant the Rangers team that is 70-51 since May 3 (their low point of season) vs the Astros who have been 59-62 in the same stretch. But credit the Astros. They had one heck of a first month of the season.

1) Rangers are 11 games over .500, so even taking away the multitude of wins they've collected against the Astros, they'd still be 4 games over .500.

2) Astros are 20-10 when Keuchel starts, but 57-59 in all other games. Astros are a sub-.500 team when Keuchel isn't pitching. Heck, they've been a sub-.500 team ever since they got off to a hot start in the first month.

You realize Dallas Keuchel is on the Astros right? Take any teams #1 and they'd be worse. That isn't groundbreaking news.

Ya, this guy name Yu Darvish, he's pretty monstrous on the mound and always dominates the LAstros.

Maybe others have heard of him
