I'm happy to see Silas actually regulating minutes. Nobody played over 30 minutes last night and he legitimately plays 10 guys every night. This is something that drove me nuts about Pringles. He never played more than 8 guys, which causes several problems. First, someone is going to get injured from fatigue and second, you don't develop any young players.

Box scores are highly, highly deceiving with Westbrook, always have been. He has severely hampered their team this year. Incredibly inefficient player.
Can we at least agree that Wall remains a huge risk to miss a lot of games?

Along those lines its nice to see a team that doesn't go 10+ offensive possessions with one or two guys taking all the shots. There have been many times over the last couple of games where its a barrage of made jumpers from 3-4 different players at a time. Beautiful to watch.

They're also being overly cautious with him right now. Let's see where we're at in another 20 games or so and see how often he's playing.

You actually have to watch all of the players and the entire court now.

I feel like a new divorcee that just got out of an abusive marriage. I suddenly realize all of the terrible things I accepted and just rationalized. This team has rekindled my appreciation for the details of basketball. It honestly takes me back to some of the old BCG Aggie teams.

Precisely. I remember a recent clip they ran on SportsCenter (maybe TNT) a few weeks ago where Harden has the ball at the top of the key for the Rockets and everyone spreads out to the wings and corners to start the possession. The body language of those guys was just terrible standing there knowing they weren't getting the ball. Then Harden jacks a step back three with a few seconds to go on the clock. This has to be like euphoria for EG, House, and Tuck.

What's so much better is that even though Harden had a ton of assists, the entire team wasn't involved and engaged. If Harden went down or didn't play well (like the playoffs), the team as constructed and how it played, couldn't win.

Now, the defense is elite, and the offense is great. Everyone is involved, and there seems to be more buy in.

I'm way more invested in watching this team than any team led by Harden.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

I wonder what Tucker is thinking right now. Is he still wanting out or interested to see how this plays out?

I wonder what we can get for Tucker....if we can get a younger role player or a decent pick (doubtful) then I would trade him no doubt.

The goal is to win the championship....we need to build for 3+ years out.

Yea I am still trying to move EG and Tucker if I can to get younger or grab picks. I love the way this team is playing but not taking them in a series against the top dogs

EG gonna be tough to move without giving up an asset.

Tucker is good for all the young guys. Let them learn from him this year. I think he has more value with the team than traded.

I agree. Although his numbers look a lot better post Harden. Contract is ugly though

KOC had reported a few weeks back that the Rockets are seeking 3 2nd rounders for Tucker.

This and I have a hard time seeing what contending team is a "Tucker" away from a championship. I kind of figured he'd be packaged with Harden or traded away at the deadline if the post-Harden Rockets weren't competitive. Now that it looks like the Rockets may sneak into the playoffs, I don't think you trade him unless the offer is too good. However, I just don't know what his market is.

If that is the return I would rather keep him. He can be a great influence on the younger guys and help us win games and be a playoff team this year.

I know I don't post in this forum very often (small kids have limited my ability to catch as many games as I used to watch before kids), but I find myself looking forward to watching this team much more than in the past year or so. It's fun to watch these guys move the ball around. It's fun to watch a team that is having fun around each other.

I disagree. Again.

And I think now that he's playing well I am more right than before.

It all depends on how the season goes. If we stay hot and look like we might be able to make a playoff run, then it would be dumb to trade him...because it's not like we are going to get anything of real value for him...but if trading him ends up being the right move, I do think we could trade him for an expiring contract without having to give anything else up, which would be a long-term victory just by virtue of getting out from under his contract.

But all of you saying he doesn't have any value need to leave 2020 behind and start watching with an open mind. He's a leading 6th man of the year candidate. Someone will eat that contract for 2 years and change if they think he can put them over the top.

I get you. Again, a lot of what ifs. I 100% agree he has looked way better lately, I just hope it continues. My issue with EG for his entire tenure with Houston has been consistency. I guess where I am at with it is whether or not his presence on the team makes you a title contender or just helps you make the playoffs with a first round exit. I think you can argue that getting his salary off your books would be a huge relief.

31 - 16.8 mill (currently)
32 - 18.2 mill
33 - 19.5 mill
34 - 20.9 mill

This does lead me to an inquiry about Rafael Stone though. I wonder what his strategy and/or mindset is right now with this team? It has looked great as of late, but does he think its enough to compete with Brooklyn, LA x 2, Milwaukee, etc. OR is he still in asset acquisition, auditioning players, holding out for best offers, etc.

If I had to guess its probably somewhere in the middle and a wait and see approach....

EG's final season is only triggered if he is on the all star team or wins the nba title.

Correct: It becomes guaranteed if not waived by June 28, 2023, if he makes the All-Star Game before the 2023/24 season (not likely) or if his team wins the NBA title and he has played at least 500 minutes in the regular season or 750 minutes between regular season and playoffs during that championship run.
Harry Dunne

The final year of that contract is a non-factor.

If any of the things that trigger EG's final year happen then the team that gets him got far more than their money's worth.

Pretty lucky to be down only 11 shooting 36% from the field.

Wall is the only PG on the roster and we look like dogisht without him. If we are not tanking, we need to pick up Isaiah Thomas and see what he has left in the tank.

It makes absolutely no sense that when you are reviewing a clear path foul you cannot give the ball to the Rockets because you see that you missed an obvious kickball. I know that's the rule but it's idiotic
