Looking forward to seeing our future center Boogie Cousins tonight
Any actual chatter about this? Wouldn't know how I'd feel about that. But he's putting up amazing stats lately....True Anomaly said:

Noel only plays 13 mins when the other team has two legit centers. Way to go Rick. I guess Noel has always been in his doghouse and will never get out. So we won't even know what we have going into free agency.

He has terrible knees so you play him13 minutes? And he has terrible knees so you offer him 4/72 in the offseason? Give me a break, his knees have nothing to do with him playing 13 mins. Carlisle has him in the doghouse or we are just trying to artificially lower his upcoming for free agency, which will do us no good bc he will just be pissed and go somewhere else.
That's a good point- I can't think of one.PooDoo said:
He didn't have a problem playing Jae Crowder did he? Is there an example of a young guy Rick didn't play leaving and blowing up?
It's not about guys leaving a blowing up. It's about playing and attempting to develop young guys. It would be very very rare for a young guy to get almost no playing time and then leave and blow up. They need the minutes when they are young to develop and have a chance to blow up. And playing them and realizing you don't have much there and need to move on is just as important as playing them and realizing you have a good player.PooDoo said:

exactly. Maybe Noel just has the worst attitude imaginable at practice or something so Carlisle can't bring himself to play him. But I'd be surprised if that was the case, because I'm actually shocked Noel hasn't complained about his playing time yet. Makes me think he must have a decent attitude bc I would be saying something by now. Carlisle is literally costing him tens of millions with how he's treating him.jeffdjohnson said:
I'll admit that Noel is probably not as good as I thought. Likely more Brandon Wright than Tyson Chandler. Carslisle is a great coach and there isn't a young player that has left the Mavs who I feel bad about losing. I also remember being confused why Carlisle wouldn't play Roddy Beaubois, turns out it was because he sucked. Of course those Mavs teams were still sniffing around the playoffs.
Looking at the league now and the Mavs roster composition it doesn't make sense not to play Noel. The Mavs aren't winning **** this year or next. The Mavs should be building towards the 20-21 season. The only players under 25 that they have now are Barnes, Noel, Smith Jr., Ferrell and Finney-Smith. Ferrell and Finney-Smith are career back ups, not that there is anything wrong with that. Noel is the only one in that group who doesn't get playing time. There is just no reason not see if he can break out. Mejiri might be better today but he will also be 33 years old two seasons from now.
It was exactly the kind of game you'd hope for- crazy competitive, fun to watch, but ultimately they lose.fightinags2013 said:
Daayyyyyyum Kyrie was crazy good last night. His "clutch" stats are off the charts
Need games like that every now and then to at least keep things interesting.PatAg said:
