KD on the wizards would have been interesting. Probably couldn't have worked for cap reasons though.

From what I understand, it was a unanimous decision and no one will go.

Like Pop, Kerr has been pretty outspoken against Trump...

Very interesting. Screw them! Screw Pop too, I did not care for his comments on Trump. Not entirely sure why these people think that their political insight is worth a damn.

I hate to break it to you, but your "fact of the matter" is just your opinion.
maybe, but that opinion is held by a large majority, only a small minority of KD dick riders and GSW "fans" will feel this is a legit chip
Oh boy... You clearly listen to Stephen A waaaay too much. Only butthurt OKC fans feel this way. See, I can make sweeping generalities too...

Dude got to make tons of money, had best odds to win a chip, and had a much easier job. Who wouldn't do that?

Seriously, if you had the opportunity to make the same money you do now but your job was much easier and you worked with a team that was very selfless... You're telling me that you wouldn't do that. Riiiggghhhhttt......
I don't think I would, though I'm a biased Thunder fan.

If I'm KD and I don't want to return to OKC after last season (which I understand the reasons why), I have 29 options and need to start eliminating some. First one crossed off my list would be the team that just beat us in a gut-wrenching seven game series in which one of their players kicked one of our players in the nuts. Twice.

I think there were 10-15 teams that could have debatably made the finals or won a ring with KD added. He chose the Dubs, which rightfully ruffled alot of feathers.

He played great the past couple weeks. Deserved the Finals MVP. My hat's off to him. And obviously a poor kid from Maryland who defied all odds and became one of the top two players in the game doesn't care about what this privileged guy who was raised in the affluent Houston suburbs thinks. As a fan of the game, my disappointment is more that he could have had his rings/finals MVPs/etc without totally selling out and signing with the team that ripped his heart out a couple months earlier.

Oh well. Understood that there's lots of room for interpretation/disagreement on this subject.
At the end of the day, you have to think about what's important to you and KD chose to win above anything else. Your NBA legacy isn't about how you arrived at the Championship but rather how many rings you have. If you think about all the NBA superstars of the past: Karl Malone, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, AI, Patrick Ewing, etc... all those guy's aren't held in the same breath as those that have rings.

You're looking at it from the view from a fan and that's understandable, but KD made the best choice for himself to win a ring. It wasn't like he staged a live press conference and made a decision about what he was going to do.

More importantly he is effectively lengthening his playing career by not having to "be the man" day in and day out by signing with GS.

By these people, are you talking about Pop/Kerr or reporters? Because they're only answering questions being asked and the team visit thing wasn't them giving the public any sort of insight because they haven't released anything officially. It's being reported.

Not sure why another American's political opinions bother you so much either way. Who cares?

If Karl Malone left the Jazz in 96 to join the Bulls and then won 2 rings, I don't think he would have this greater legacy because he won two rings.

His legacy wouldn't be the same because his numbers wouldn't be the same... apples to oranges

It's really nothing new. Barkley to Houston. Then Pippen to Houston. Those guys to the Lakers. Shaq was shameless about it in the last few years of his career.

as for the "unanimous" decision not to go, and for that to be a story 12 hours after winning a title, that sort of screams pathetic, but I'm not shocked in the least.

I also don't care. I care more about being annoyed that the "story" is even being discussed.

It'll be interesting to see what his legacy ultimately is. Fans, media, former players, fellow players will all have a say. Maybe KD doesn't give AF what they say, but it still matters if he cares about going down as an all time great.

If he had stuck around in OKC or left for a non-GS franchise and won rings, I tend to think his legacy would be greater than winning rings on the GS train. Then again, he was probably going down as an all time great either way.

Whatever. This topic is starting to bore me haha

Come on. Everybody gets butthurt, not just Republicans. Just look at all the campus protests.

Strongly disagree with boycotting Trump. Yes he's loud but this portrayal of him as the anti Christ is ridiculous.

I don't care that much and they are entitled to whatever they want to think or say, but I just don't see the point in any of it it, I don't know why the media or anyone cares what Steve Kerr thinks about Trump, I don't get why Curry feels the need to publicly call the president an "ass" publicly.

It's sad that people can't put political differences aside.

I mean, it's the President of the United States. As much as I disliked Obama, I still respected his office and would have never passed up an opportunity to personally meet him.

Refusing to meet the President of your own country because you don't agree with him politically is just nonsense.

And here comes the spurs fans talking about nothing.
Actually it's not "nothing" and a very good point made in not so many words.

If Coach Pop would be coaching Cleveland, the series might 3-2 heading to Cleveland. Coach Pop is a really good coach that can get his team to maximize it's effort with intelligence. The Cavs made numerous bone headed plays that cost them games 3 and 5.

I'm not a Spurs fan. I think if Pop coached the Cavs they win the Finals over GS with Durant

I also found Draymond Green's comments after the game pretty interesting:
"I had a letdown last year, but like I told everybody before if Kevin Durant was the consolation prize to lose, thanks for that loss, and we champs this year."

Personally, I may be reading too far into those words but it sounds like he and the rest of his team don't give a **** they added a top 5 player in the league to a 73-win team. Its about getting a ring by any means necessary. Welcome to the NBA.

And this is why I think that GS isn't as powerful and mighty as everyone is proclaiming a "dynasty". I'll believe it when I see it. For all intents and purposes, if KD doesn't make that dagger of a 3 in Game 3, there would be a Game 6 on Thursday.

I'm not so much a Spurs fan as I am a Poppovich fan. I'm really glad that he's coaching Team USA. I do like to rib Spurs fans though because they're so sensitive about their team.

Good grief guys. Every sports organization out there, in every sport, is basically in it for themselves trying to get a clear competitive advantage and stomp all the other sports teams. This isn't little league where everybody is supposed to get a participation trophy. It is a dog eat dog world out there.

The other 29 NBA teams would all love to be in Golden State's shoes right now at the top of the mountain with a clear competitive advantage.

What, so should we expect the Alabama Football program to fire Nick Saban and stop recruiting the #1 recruiting class every year, so that the other schools in the SEC maybe have a more 'fair' chance to win the conference?

Hell no. sports is generally about getting to the top and beating the crap out of everybody else. Sure, you want to do things within the rules, but as long as the rules are followed then I got no problem with one team kicking all the other team's asses. If the other teams don't like or want to get their ass kicked, then draft better, develop better, spend more money, hire better coaches or GM's, pray for luck, whatever. Stop whining about the Warriors and oh how unfair the world is. They didn't cheat. They made good decisions and got lucky with some things and that is that. So either nut up and try to build a team to stop them, or just tank for a few years and wait until their present run ends, which it of course eventually will after probably 2-4 years from now.

29 other teams are trying to sign the best players. Players across the league are trying to land in a spot where they can make the most money and win. This was no different. Bunch of sour grapes.

And I post this as someone who isn't a fan of the Warriors.

There's space between:

"Every team wants to be like the Warriors. SOUR GRAPES!"

and

"The Warriors are ruining the NBA!"

LeBron is the best player in the world, but people seem to not want to point out that LeBron built a 'superteam' around himself in Cleveland.

Kyrie Irving is an All-Star. And they then traded away Wiggins for Kevin Love (another All-Star). The Cav's payroll was higher than any other NBA team this season.

The Cavs rolled over every other opponent in the East, and often did just fine when LeBron went to the bench.

The Cavs would probably have beaten the Spurs or Rockets IMO in like 6 games or less had they met those teams in the Finals. The Warriors are simply at a whole other level right now than everybody else.
