Well the mainstream sport media was a big factor in ripping his decision to make the move. Including a ton of former players and even all-time greats.

So are they right or wrong? Pretty ironic you want to discount the mainstream media view on it being a cheap move that removes competition, while pointing to them to determine his championship legacy.

Just watch if the NBA titles accumulate. Obviously Durant Will go down as an all-time great player, and he will be considered the best player on a 'dynasty'. Team. His 'legacy' will be fine if they now rip off a bunch of consecutive titles. Winning consecutive NBA titles is VERY hard to do even with a stacked roster. There are so many things that can derail you. Injuries, Age, egos & chemistry issues, complacency, coaching mistakes, not too mention 29 other NBA teams trying to pull you off the mountain.

the longer the Warriors can continue this current run of dominance (now entering Year 4 with 2 out of last 3 NBA titles) then the more their legacy will be written as All-Time Great. Right there with other great dynasties like 90's Bulls (won 6 titles over 8 years) and so forth.

That is what they are clearly shooting for, we will see if they can pull it off.

Oh wait. What year was this article written?

Quote:

Miami will cruise to the finals after beating Indiana, and Memphis and San Antonio will compete for the pleasure of losing to the Heat. Whether dynasties are a good or bad thing for sports is a question up for debate, but it is dispiriting that the Heat's amazing season (which included a 27-game winning streak) has been the only interesting NBA story all year. The other possibilities that loomed right after Miami won last yeara Derrick Rose comeback to rescue the Bulls, a Lakers resurgence, an Oklahoma City-Miami rematchall eventually fizzled thanks to injuries and Oklahoma City's terrible decision not to keep James Harden. In short, the season and playoffs have become a microcosm for everything people despise about the NBA, with so much talent concentrated on one team, and so many dispiriting games.
