Yea, I was thinking about that after game 4. The Warriors have lost 4 straight closeout games to the Cavs in the NBA Finals. Maybe if they lose again tonight the doubt will start creeping in a little bit further.
That stat is kind of mind boggling, but I don't think they'll lose tonight. It took an NBA record setting shooting barrage for the Cavs to win Game 4. They're bound to come back to earth at some point and I have a hard time believing that Kevin Love will be shooting lights out again. I think Lebron and Kyrie will find ways to keep Cleveland in the game, but they will ultimately be let down by their supporting cast.

It took record breaking shooting to win in a semi-blowout. The Game 3 effort was nearly enough if not for an unfortunate ending (all credit to KD and Golden State though).

But the Cavs can play with GS. I don't think they will comeback from 3-0 but it's in the realm of possibility.

Even if you felt the Cavs had a 50-50 chance to win each of the next three games (despite two of the three games being in Oakland where the Warriors have won 44 of 49 games played in Oracle this season), the probability of them winning three straight would be:

Probability = .5 * .5 * .5 = 12.5% chance of winning NBA title.

That's their odds IF you think it is a merely a 'coin flip' going into each game of who is going to win. So yeah, a comeback is possible, but the odds are really poor.

I personally think the series ends tonight but we'll see.

Yeah true, but that's also what you call home cookin that has given the Cavs the false sense that they can hang with the Warriors in Golden State.

Warriors -8.5 tonight, thought the line would be a little closer. I'm staying away from that one.

Game 4 the Cavs shot 24-45 from three point range (53%) which was most 3-pointers made in Finals history. And the Warriors shot 11-39 (28.2%) including Curry going 2-9, Durant going 2-9, and Klay Thompson going 4-10.

So if Cavs can just have another historical 3-point shooting night and the all-time great shooters on the Warriors shoot poorly again, then sure the Cavs can win.

But I wouldn't bet on that happening a second consecutive game, and particularly not at Oracle.

Fun fact: per 100 possessions, Cleveland outscores GS by 1.1 when Lebron James is on the court. However, by the same metric, when he is off of the court GS outscores Cleveland by 47.

Definitely a testament to Lebron's greatness.

I could see Lebron playing another game in terms of minutes like he did in game three (46). They need him out there as much as possible especially when Kerr is resting Curry and Durant.

If I was coaching the Cavs I would play him all 48 minutes. Then use every timeout, ask for official reviews, have a bench player cause a scene and slowly get ejected, pay a court side fan to streak, and pay another 2 to get into a fight. Slow down the game as much as possible to rest LBJ with extra stoppage.

This is where you need an assistant that can projectile vomit on command. Let some dude spew bodily fluid all over the court a few times a game, and bam, LBJ is rested and ready after the court has been sanitized. And you use ADA to back up your assistant in case the NBA tries to pull some bs by trying to prevent the assistant from being on the sideline.

Reading that article about the events that had to play out for the Warriors to ascend like they did, it is really amazing some of the details.

Event #1 - In 2009 NBA draft, Minnesota Timberwolves draft consecutive PG's Ricky Rubio (5th pick) and Johnny Flynn (6th pick). Warriors then pick PG Curry with 7th pick.

I wonder if Timberwolve fans ever bring that up.

https://theringer.com/2017-nba-finals-how-the-warriors-built-their-team-2d5f49a5265a

Quote:

Kahn went on to pass on Steph Curry twice selecting Spanish teen-hypebeast Ricky Rubio and Syracuse's Jonny Flynn instead. You can kind of see what Kahn was thinking here. The Wolves would have to pay Joventut Badalona, Rubio's ACB team, a buyout fee rumored to be in the $68 million range if they wanted him on the roster for 200910. Why pay that when you can simply draft Flynn a pure distributor, unlike the offense-centric combo-guard Curry and have him play the position until Ricky eventually comes over?

Two problems:

A) Flynn was a pick-and-roll player at Syracuse, and the Wolves would soon hire Lakers assistant and triangle offense acolyte Kurt Rambis as their head coach.

B) Flynn was really, really bad.

Two years later, Kahn flipped Flynn whom, again, he picked over Steph Curry to the Rockets for the rights to Nikola Mirotic, the pick that became Chandler Parsons, and a bunch of other stuff. Neither Mirotic nor Parsons ever suited up for the Wolves. Flynn, 28, has been out of the league since 2012.

The Warriors selected Steph Curry with the seventh pick.

Lebron is easily top 2 players of all time, he is just lacking that it factor that Kobe and Jordan had , that mental toughness and demand for the ball at the end of the game.

Seriously, props to the Cavs. They shot lights out. Their blatant constant holding is weak especially when it's not evenly called. Warriors need to step up their D.

Lol. You realize if the refs consistently called moving screens on Golden state, they'd be lucky to average 90 a game.

GS shot more FTs then Cleveland last night, Draymond should have beeen ejected twice, Zaza got to punch a guy in the nuts without even getting tagged for a flagrant or T (shoulda been ejected), Love got a BS flagrant. Durant got to openly shove Jefferson twice with no foul called on either.

Anyone who is *****ing about GS not getting the calls needs to put down their Steph Curry doll for a minute and rejoin he rest of the world in reality.

Ehh...the game went like many games do. One team gets a ridiculous amount of free throws early, then they spend the rest of the game evening it out. The Cavs shot what....23 or 24 free throws in just the first half?

It isn't leaving reality to have the opinion that Cleveland was getting huge benefits early in the game.

The main GS risk I see is they get overly amped, and that mixed with their knucklehead factor could be a volatile combo that ends in a game-changing ejection or two that helps Cle steal this one. And of they steal this one, it's on like Donkey Kong. Not unlike last year.

What the HELL was Cleveland doing those last 5 minutes? And Lebron barely able to hit rim on 2 FTs. Lucky they grabbed a couple baskets right at the end of the quarter.

Not to mention of the non call on Livingston grabbing LeBron who was trying to post up and korver on curry's 3 point attempt.

It has been awful both ways

The Cavs playing very sloppy. Too many Turnovers even with the lead.

They need Love to get hot this quarter so Bron and kyrie can dial it back a tick.

And LeBron takes a kd swat to the face on a dunk with no call.

Yep. Refs officially have no clue what they're doing either way.

Well special thanks to Cleveland for letting me stop watching early. I can now do better call Saul during its normal block and check back in if it's under 10 in the 4th.

Just relentless. Opponemt has to play its balls off just to barely stay above water, but any time slipping and they end up buried.
