I'll preface this by saying I still think this is going to be a close series. However, I can't help but point out some of the thoughts I've read from various Spurs fans in this thread and the others:
-Lee can easily cover Ariza (someone even mentioned Parker wouldn't have an issue)
-Lee can hold Capela
-Aldridge will own Capela, Capela will have foul trouble early
-Just go under on pick and rolls and let Harden shoot the three
-Spurs are the best 3 pt defenders in league, Rockets shouldn't expect to reach their average
-Spurs bigs will dominate
-Spurs should crash the boards, Rockets can't rebound

LA has been absolutely worthless this playoffs.
I'm a die hard Rockets fan and ecstatic about last night's game. I still say though the rings the Spurs have and Popovich cannot be underrated.

Captain obvious here but: If LA doesn't play better and houston shoots the 3 ball that way this series is over.
However I'm still picking the spurs in the series because I think pop and the experience of that spurs roster carry such weight and they will eventually start forcing the issue on certain rotations. This isn't their first rodeo and know a series isn't won in game 1.
I expect the spurs to come out in game 2 and throw haymakers and play with their hair on fire. If Houston isn't focused and is content/flat with splitting the first 2 games they will get drilled.
I also don't think home court advantage is going to have much weight in this series either as it's more about who's hot/cold and execution.

Lolz. If y'all "shut us down" it'll be due to our own inability to shoot 3s like we did last night. What we were doing wasn't really defendable when you have 4 guys you can kick it out to on the perimeter to sink one.
Spurs looked slow and tired. Rockets were insanely hot and will find it hard to produce and hit at those numbers again. Look for it to even out next game but you never know. Donald Sutherland...I mean Pop will have a game plan to counter act the Rockets. Can they execute?
The Spurs are going to have to change up their lineups imo. The group they had out there last night couldn't guard Houston at all. It wasn't just Houston being hot. Houston dominated in the paint and basically got whatever shots they wanted. I think either Dedmon or Gasol needs to be on the court at all times.
One of the biggest differences (although very small sample size) compared to last series was the defense in the paint. The Spurs don't have a Steven Adams to control the paint, and as a result we scored much more points in the paint with ease compared to the OKC series. I don't think we will see us score that easily in the games to come, but that was a big difference in last night's game.Ryan34 said:

Basically, just as Pringles said in his presser, that was one of the best games we've played combined with one of the worst games SA will play. I don't expect Game 2 will be anything like Game 1. I'm hopeful for another win, but we are going to have to make some damage in the paint again to do that

The surprising thing was the Spurs effort on defense and offense. You'd think that a Popovich coached team wouldn't have issues with effort, but Houston took it to them and were aggressive all night. It was uncharacteristic to see a Spurs team so lost and had zero cohesion on the floor.
You'd like to not put a whole of stock into one game, however when you get beaten like that at home, it helps the younger team who is trying to beat an older experienced team.
I don't think Spurs will have answers for Houston and I still think that this might go to 7 games, but it wouldn't surprise me if Houston wrapped it up in 5 or 6 games.
I'm just not sure the Spurs have the personnel nor the depth to keep up with Houston. They're going to have to really slow down the tempo and turn it into a half court game in order to have a chance.
