I agree. Plus you could tell that the altitude was really hurting both teams. It's like they were trying but in the end they just wanted the game to be over. I honestly don't see the benefit of it for the team.

Kawhi with four in a row with 30+. The defense has been terrible lately though. Pau and TP are a huge liability on that end of the floor.

I wasn't able to watch last night, but Dejounte Murray had 24 points on 7-11 shooting and 3-5 from 3. Impressive numbers from the rookie.

Wonder if the front office looks to add any big to a 10 day contact for depth/garbage time?

Gasol injury obviously isn't great. BUT I am looking forward to more Dedmon and Bertans. Could be a positive in the long for the Spurs.

Looks like Simmons is going to be the first Spur in the dunk contest since Cadillac Anderson in 1988.

Yeah, given that Bertans seems to be mostly capable of playing PF in the regular season, they still go four deep in the post. Wouldn't hurt to use the opportunity to give someone a tryout, but Dedmon and Bertans need the minutes.

Murray appears to be coming along fast. The shooting is good but won't be there every night, I'm happier to see that he has tightened up his handle quite a bit and is playing harder on defense. Screens don't totally obliterate him like they did in preseason play.

He's been shooting lights out, 43% from three. The Spurs for various reasons have been able to collapse the defense more consistently this year than last, which means more clean looks off of kick outs. With more guards on the team he has to dribble less, which is for the best.

Defensively he's not playing the best he's ever done, but that's really true of everyone, imo even Kawhi hasn't played to the standard he set the last two years. Swapping Timmy for Gasol has been rough on the team defense.

...and I'm not sure anyone belongs in a dunk contest with Gordon and Levine right now, but I'm glad Simmons is getting a shot.

i think Levine is a bit overrated, he has good dunks but last year Gordon should have won that hands down

It's going to come down to whether Gasol can figure out how to control space in the Spurs defense. There are a lot of times that you'll see the guard hedge high side to force the baseline drive like they've always done, but Gasol doesn't show at the right time so it turns into either an easy layup or the defense collapses to compensate and the driver kicks to an open shooter. In turn the guards have started giving more space to try and contain one-on-one or at least slow down the drive, which is a losing proposition against NBA offensive skills.

Spurs are signing Joel Anthony to a 10 day contract. Looks like Pau will be out anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

Also, Parker is sitting out tonight against the Cavs. Dejounte will have a huge test against Kyrie. Should be fun.
