Lots of love on ESPN right now. Great win in OT on the road tonight.

Yeah I heard that at halftime. He is a terrible analyst.

Kawhi finally gets his 40 pt night.

Good win tonight on the road with 2 starters out. Kyle Anderson stepped up tonight on the defensive end. Was +19 in 18 minutes with 4 steals and 2 blocks.

Kyle's length was huge tonight. Cavs' wings are long and not particularly quick. It's a good matchup to give Anderson minutes

Really great all around win.

Kawhi is a beast.

Hey Pop...why don't you focus on coaching basketball and keep your remarks about our new President to yourself. You sound like one of those Hollywood actors.

I love JVG and Jackson. JVG is the biggest Spurs fan boy there is... I'm not sure why any Spurs fan would not like him. Plus he's funny as hell.

I hope Murray stays on this current tear. It's amazing how much better the Spurs do in selecting/developing later picks than other teams

I think Pop is doing a pretty good job of coaching basketball. I may be in the minority but what he believes and says is of little consequence to me as long as he keeps winning basketball games.

Exactly. And if you don't want to hear his opinion on the matter tell the reporters to stop asking for it. These aren't unsolicited comments.

Also this thread is slow enough as it is. Let's stick to basketball talk and how great Kawhi is.

I also welcome the occasional "F Houston" or "F Dallas" comments.

Did you actually disagree with what Pop said?
-shouldn't disrespect the CIA wall like that
-talk to all groups of Americans
-own whatever statements you make

IMO, that's not controversial

Don't look now but the Mavericks just beat the Lakers 122-73. This is the worst loss in Lakers team history. No starter had double figures for the Lakers.

The Cavs game looked like a playoff game to me. Intensity, adjustments, heroics, and BS officiating to help one of the NBA's favored teams. Great win.

One begins to question who should be starting at PG. Murray is really good in transition, he scores easily in situations where Parker would pull up to run a set. Has a lot to learn, still has a hard time getting through screens, and undoubtedly isn't ready for the playoffs, but his ceiling is high. A raw 19-year old scoring PG with a sweet tear drop who isn't really ready for the spotlight... remind you of anyone around 2001? Is there a better time to plug him in than now, surrounded by a bevy of veterans at the peak of their powers? Probably next year, but it's at least starting to look like a question worth asking.

The Cavs game didn't do anything to hurt the thesis that Gasol might be a bench player on the Spurs, especially against small ball teams.

I just hope Tony is willing to play off the bench when that time comes. And I think that time is next season.

I think he is, or at least he has said he is. Agree that I'd rather have TP starting for now, but if Murray keeps scoring this easily it will become a debate.

This is the last year of Mills' contract and presumably Manu's last season (although he looks good this year...). Seems like a good chance that the Spurs will need a lot out of next year's second team PG.

Murray is going to learn a lot next season when Chris Paul decides to don the Silver and Black and follow Pop and Kawhi to the promised land.

Strictly from a needs based perspective, I can't imagine a much better situation for CP3 than to come to SA to chase rings. I realize he would instantly make just about any team better (save for maybe the Cavs and Warriors), but what a perfect fit he would be in San Antonio.

Can you imagine the pick and rolls with Kawhi and LMA? It's already pretty lethal when Tony is healthy. Now picture CP3 instead, with his scoring ability. The team wouldn't lean on him to carry the scoring load, although I'm sure with the space the SA offense opens up, he would have plenty of opportunities. He's also a fantastic defender for a PG. If I were Pop, I would be salivating at the chance to run out CP3, Danny Green, and Kawhi on the opposing teams offense.

lol we would have to trade the whole damn bench to afford that

The cap will rise an extra 8-10 million this offseason, and Manu won't cost us 14 million. There's the majority of your CP3 money (the CBA rules make it more complicated, but that is the headline version). The bench would probably lose David Lee, Patty Mills, Jonathan Simmons, etc, but those guys aren't going to put the Spurs over the Cavs/Warriors in a 7 game series. You need big guns playing the majority of your minutes.

Leonard, Parker, Gasol, and Ginobili out and we still win by almost 30. That's incredible. On both sides.

And Murray started the game playing like a rookie. It's good to get these young guys some playing time against a team like Brooklyn where they can make a few mistakes and play through them. He came back and played pretty well in the 4th quarter.
