Spurs fan can be an arrogant dewsh sometimes. Lol at trying to take credit for OKC killing Golden State.

This Thunder team is incredible right now. I'm a Spurs fan and agree OKC flipped a switch in the Spurs series. They didn't "learn" anything from the Spurs. The Spurs didn't invent team basketball, they've just been the best at it for the last 15 years.

OKC has great players and apparently a great coach and they all have come together with an incredible fire in their belly. I will be genuinely happy for them if they win it all.

Man I am really happy for Roberson. Had a little Q&A video session with him and some assistant coaches two years ago at a season ticket holder event. Really smart and does a ton of stuff that even some of the most knowledgeable hoops viewers don't see. This offensive explosion from him couldn't happen to a nicer dude.

Donovan took Durant and Westbrook off the playground and put them on a basketball court.

At least the Spurs OKC series was competitive.

What I would give for the rockets to have a coach like Billy Donovan. This guy is so freaking good.

I can agree that a really good team like the Spurs can bring the best out in a team and series of events can cause a team to gel. Not a unique phenomenon.

However, your post reads as if the only reason the Thunder are killing GS is because the Spurs "taught" them how to play together as a team. Your post reads as if the Thunder win the championship there would be an asterisk next to their name that says, "because the Spurs taught the Thunder everything the know about playing as a team."

That's what I meant about just give the Thinder credit for what they are doing. Yes, I believe the Spurs series helped this Thunder team learn a lot. But what the Thunder are doing now is completely believing in themselves and their coach.

This.

And the Spurs have been incredible. I genuinely love watching them play ball. Would love if the Rockets could play at even 75% of what Spurs play at.

This series definitely hasn't gone as most anticipated. Can't believe "the team better than the Bulls" is down 3-1. However, none of these Thunder players better pull a Tracey McGrady.

Man I really wish I was still in OKC for this. The excitement from the other finals run was amazing. Bet it is even better now.

Nuggets don't really bring out the crowds, but the super bowl was ok

I think it was a layman point to make as an answer to why they blew so many 4Q leads.

Maybe but I don't think Durant or Westbrook had ever been taught that it's legal to move your feet when you don't have the ball until this year.

Taking nothing away from Donovan, but Presti gave him the keys to a Ferrari. The Thunder have always been a great perimeter team, but adding Kanter and Adams to Ibaka gave the Thunder one of the strongest front courts in the NBA to go along with two perimeter superstars.

I thought we were pretty much on the same page. Didn't really mean anything bad by my posts.

Again, I'm just a rockets fan that wishes we had even a fraction of the amount of the success you Spurs fans have gotten to witness in the last 15 years

kanter and Adams were there last year with Scott Brooks as coach...

Steve Kerr was on the same level and they won a title in his first year.

There were plenty of us wondering about Donovan but what I remember most about this season was that first game against SA, TNT did their "in the huddle" deal and hearing him once made me feel like "okay this guy is definitely better that Brooks I'm game.". I credit Brooks with a lot of the player development (especially Russ) but Donovan is way better in game.

I'm a Spurs fan and I said as much before the series began. The Thunder core has been to The Finals for crying out loud. They didn't need the Spurs to teach them how to play championship basketball or some such Disney storyline bull****. What they needed and what they got was Kanter and Adams pummeling teams down low on both sides of the ball. That's why they're winning.

Adams is 22 and Kanter is 24. They've improved a lot since last year. Obviously some of that was coaching, but they were going to be improved players regardless.

OKC is doing it with D. They are playing incredible defense. I remember thinking during the Spurs series "why can't the Spurs get a decent shot? Why isn't the ball rotating like normal?"

Turns out they are doing the same thing to GS - switching everything on Curry, clogging passing lanes, making GS work their asses off just for a mediocre jump shot. It's pretty amazing what they have done to the best 2 offenses in the NBA.

This. Sometime during game 2 of the Spurs series, I felt like they finally transitioned from KD/Russ playground ball to a complete team with coaching/strategy, effort on D and big contributions from role players.

The Curry part seems to be true. He's not the same player, and I don't think it is just OKC. The other excuses are lame though - they have gotten into Green's head.
