I still can't think of a place for him. Too small down low and too slow to the perimeter. High iq though

Well he's 6'9" so I'm assuming you mean small as in his weight. Got to remember he's still only 21. He could beef up if it's decided he'd be best as a 4. Still kind of trying to figure that out though. He's actually shown great rebounding ability as well which is a good thing. He's shown a lot of improvement on his mid range shot but still lacks a consistent three ball. He's been drawing fouls like crazy in summer league so we'll see if that translates but he is a very smart player like you mentioned. He's going to have trouble defending at the NBA level wherever he's lined up but I can see him carving a role out for himself at the next level.

Some lose sight of just how young he still is. I mean Jonathan Simmons is already 25 to put it in perspective. His progression from year one to two has been impressive so far though.


Here's a photo of Boris at 21 years old and a rookie just as a reminder.

I don't think yall give Kyle enough credit. Yea, his feet are slow, but he has quick hands and deceptive speed. Great ball handler and has a efficient step back jumper. Judging from his last couple summer league games, he has little problem staying in front of his man and is fairly adept at swiping the ball. He'll make a serviceable backup 3

He's got enough length and moves to contribute on offense, even if his game is a bit nontraditional. His biggest problems are on defense. He's not nearly strong or heavy enough to guard big men, and he isn't fast enough to handle the smaller, faster guys.

He will probably be fine against most small 4s (there are tons of them now) and against 3s that aren't great ball handlers / speedsters. Not like he will play more than 10mpg no matter what anyway.

Funny, I never even considered him at the 4 position. I just saw him as an NBA 3.
