Good Luck DJ - Gig Em!

Mavs don't have an elite scorer. Dirk is the closest thing, but he is more of a 2nd scorer now and Parsons and Matthews are both 2/3 scorers.
Dallas needs a PG that can create offensively. Parsons can create some, but he can't run an offense over the course of a season. Matthews can't run the offense. DJ can throw down and get put backs. Unless Cuban can pull off a great trade, even with three good scorers, Dallas is going to struggle without a point guard that can create for them. You simply cannot win in the NBA without a creator to run the offense. You need something much more than just a spot up shooter to spread the floor.

Watching Dirk and Lin in pick and roll defense would be awesome. Maybe even better than Felton-Dirk in the playoffs.

The rockets managed to get to the conference finals without a pg...although harden is a much better option than Matthews for a makeshift point. The point guard market is dreadful this year and next. Needed a pg with that second round selection...but grabbed the Indian version of Quasimodo.

I remember people saying that no team with an average pg like Avery Johnson could win an NBA title.

Dallas has none of those things.

Why don't you **** off and stick to your spurs threads...

Building a championship team typically isn't something you do in one offseason at the snap of a finger. There has been one team in the last 15 years that has done that, the 07-08 Celtics.
Signing Matthews and Jordan is about building the core group of players so that they can potentially get out of the first round this year, so they can say to free agents next offseason that they are making positive progress. Next offseason the Mavs will likely have enough cap space for another max player (or multiple role players), and a near max player in the offseason after that. They likely won't compete for a championship this year, but hopefully by Dirk's last season under contract they will have made enough progress to lure the talent necessary to make them a legitimate contender.

When did you become a Rockets fan?

Except he's wrong about our coach.
