Good lord. What do you talk about for 5 hours in what is basically a job interview?

Linn
Dalembert
Glen Davis
quote:You don't think the Mavs are going to give him a VP President of Fadeaway Development or something bull**** like that when he retires to pay him back for giving up salary? I think Duncan and Manu are both going to take paycuts again this year and they will both get taken care of on the back end.
I understand why Cuban and company made the moves they did. Bringing back Tyson, Aminu and Ellis would probably get the 8th seed again but that team isn't close to beating the Warriors or Cavs. Getting a nucleus of DeAndre, Parsons and Wes Mathews (even though 2 of those players are currently injured) is the final pipe dream before this era of Mavs basketball is over. It's a disservice to Dirks final 2 years that he will be stuck on a lottery team after taking those pay cuts. Too bad the Mavs can't just retroactively give Dirk a Kobe-esque 30 million for this upcoming season.
quote:he'd better talk to Wes then, because the other word is that Wes wants to sign with dallas, but is waiting to see if DJ is coming.
Word on the street is that DJ will follow Wes to Dallas, but will be staying in LAC is Wes goes elsewhere.
quote:He's an above-average starter, kind of like Parsons. Regardless, and I've stated it on this thread before, I'm fine with the Mavs tanking. They just have to tank enough to get pick 1-6 or else that goes to Boston haha. If DeAndre comes I think we can be pretty good. Championship caliber? No. But hopefully good enough to land a big fish next year, although we've said that a lot for a long time.
An average starter at best. Terrible signing at such a crazy salary. 16 mil for a 15 ppg scorer? Please. Dallas is on the way to five years of pick number 7-12.

No Rondo, no Ellis, who runs the point?

Every contract is now nuts. This one doesn't seem worse than others, and it seems to be necessary to have any shot at Deandre.
