Are you sure? Maybe I was thinking we had one before the one we took after Paul hit his shot. My bad if so.

Sorry dude, but if you can't see the different level of play from this series from the regular season you're lost. The Clippers played lights out. The Rockets have no shot at a championship. The series against the macs was a ****ing joke. Terrible basketball being played every possession. It looked like an all star game where noone played a lick of defense.

I didn't think one team could take two time outs in a row without a play happening.

Someone else said we had one. I guess I'm wrong. In that case, you're right, although the 2nd attempt of the play Belli was WIDE OPEN.

Watching the replay of the last 1.0 second showed us with one timeout left. I agree about Marco being wide open as well.

We had one left
I was shocked Pop didn't call it
After all that crap, you would think to call a timeout
He may have been so pissed he didn't think about it

I think GS is right. We couldn't call it for some reason, and that's why I thought we were out.

Only thing I can think of is, if Diaw couldn't get the pass in, he would call it before a 5 second violation. Which is why I think it's crap the refs didn't give both teams a 20 second TO after that ****ing timekeeper mishap.

Take your trolling to your own threads. Oh. And win a championship in this millennium before you start talking smack after one playoff series win.

*and I am totally assuming you're a Houston fan. If you're a Dallas fan, I don't think you have much room to talk either.

Are you sure? What if they call timeout to draw a play up, but can't get the ball in? Can you not call timeout to avoid a 5 second violation?

I'm asking because I genuinely don't know
phatpat21
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No you can
Because you can call a timeout...try to inbound the ball but if you can't, call another timeout

I think I got banned for 3 hours last night for my "I'm so glad the Spurns lost" post ?

I guess the moderator is a Spurns fan? Geez. I have posted a lot more controversial stuff on the politics board. 12 years on this board and my first ban. Haha. Sorry your team lost. Just having a bit of fun and glad the Spurns lost so the Rockets don't have to play them in round 2.

Call it payback for all of the belly aching that goes on on Rockets threads whenever other teams' fans troll.

I really didn't know. But I assume from you condescending attitude and smugness the Rockets won the season series.

Clearly, I don't know as much as you but it'll at least be fun to watch my team still in the playoffs.

Anti-Spurs trolls aside, it's been a helluva ride growing up with the Duncan/Big3 Spurs. Wish this year ended differently, but most of us have gotten to witness our hometown team win the ultimate prize 5 times. That's something that some fans never experience once.

Celebrate this Spurs team and franchise.

I think this is only the second time Popovich has list a series when up 3-2. The only other being the finals against the Heat. This doesn't such as bad as that, but this series was some bull****.

Think it was 2-2, but we didn't have Dwight for several of those games so they killed us on the boards.

Hats off to the Clippers for hitting the clutch shots; one more than the Spurs did. That was the best first round series I've ever seen.

I do think the Duncan foul call on Paul was egregiously bad. It would have been a bad call if it had been against Aaron Baynes in some meaningless game in the middle of December. But to make a call like that in the last minute, against one of the best defenders ever at not fouling, is really just bewildering. A call like that, at a time when refs are swallowing their whistles, just bizarre.

That call aside, I thought the difference again was Kawhi. I thought it was a great sign when he got going early, but he failed to impact defensively as the game wore on and seemed to lose his confidence. When Pop pulled him for sloppy D, that (and the prolonged bench time) seemed to just exacerbate things. it's one thing to struggle offensively, because he's kinda being forced to take more of the offensive load than he's ready for due to Manu getting old and Tony's lack of explosivensss due to injury, but his defense was disappointing overall, as was the Spurs defense in general. Got give credit to the Clips for some of that, though.

It's a disappointing loss but my cup was already full from being a Spurs fan. I mean, sure, I guess I could get a bigger cup, because I wanted to see them win the series and another championship, but last year's 'ship makes this loss not hurt too much. I've gotten about as much enjoyment from the Spurs, not just from the success but the way that achieved that success, as I could have possibly expected.

Foul on the Chris Paul jump shot was brutal. Textbook defense by Duncan. The officials starting the clock early was also very suspicious there at the end. Pop should have used second timeout to draw up something else though.

Clips played well though. They got the breaks down the stretch but they hit big shots as well. Credit to them. Great series. Shame it was a first round matchup.

I really thought they would say it was an Incorrect call on the 2-minute report because I thought they were calling the high-five up top. However, they ruled it was contact down low.

They judged the whole last 2-minutes to be correctly called. Which, I'm still not sure on.

Did they ever come out with the Game 6 one? I haven't seen it if so.

Question for the fans of the Spurs:

Because of the greatness of Pop & his offensive system, do you think players are generally underrated on a national level?

Or maybe players are just undervalued because of the media market? Or both? Or neither?

I don't know that players are underrated due to Pop's system or the media market. Kawhi just won DPOY. But a lot of players have looked good in SA and turrible other places b/c Pop designs a system that can maximize their good and minimize their weaknesses.

Bowen would have been useful on most teams. Can't hit FTs, can't dribble or drive, can't put the ball on the floor at all and can't shoot from anywhere but the corner. But he was a key player in two Championship teams and several other teams that got close. Gary Neal looked great on the Spurs, then left and looked pretty bad. Jefferson looked great before he came to the Spurs, got to SA and looked like trash. Malik Rose was a decently valuable role player for the Spurs, traded to the Knicks and instantly trash.

I think the Spurs have also extended the careers of a number of veterans that have come to SA to chase rings because Pop can minimize their lack of athleticism and get them in the position to score/shoot and not play them too many minutes.

You could throw Dejuan Blair in there as well. 60 something game starter a couple years in a row on some pretty good teams. Dejuan Blair. He sucks other than the few inspired revenge games he played against the Spurs in 2014.

I think the big 3 were undervalued. I think our role players are maybe slightly overvalued by other teams. Pop is able to take guys who are good at a few things and make them great at those things, while hiding what they aren't good at.

Blair and Neal should both be cautionary tales for any team wanting to throw huge dollars at Green. Blair in particular wanted out of San Antonio because he didn't believe he was playing enough. Wonder what he thinks now?

Some truth to this but Green is different. He's one of the best perimeter defenders in the entire league. Neal is one of the worst perimeter defenders in the entire league.
