Just pointing out that Mbappe can be in late 30s or even early 40s and still be playing.

He could, but it won't be at the level Messi is at 39. For reference, see Ronaldo comments. Messi is the GOAT for a reason, a complete footballer, which has allowed him to continue to compete at the highest level even while approaching 40. Hell, Messi has scored 13 WC goals since turning 35.

Fans posted up all night in front of Ecuador's hotel and fired off fireworks, honking horns, drums etc so the Ecuador team couldn't sleep.

They got rid of the golden goal because teams play too cautious and more often than not there is little action that would decide the game, so they're just wasting time.
