If Bjork were still here, I'd agree but I'm not sure we can attribute past actions to Trev and how he'd like to run things.

The fact that he hasn't extended G past next year seems like a pretty clear indication but who knows.

I see that you have Jernigan listed as a returning starter. Of note, Jernigan started 4 games this year (1 of last 7 games) and Kat Campbell started 3 games (3 of last 4 games).

I wouldn't really list either of the two as a "returning starter" though given the full season but definitely significant regular contributors. They are both in a similar positions though in that regard.

That's what I'm afraid of, I suppose there's no rush to make it public, especially if the top teams are all still playing and that's the most likely destination!! I expect to lose girls, but I don't think I'm ready for it all to unfold

It has been months since I read about it but what I recall is that when a player wants to enter the portal she has to tell her coach (probably in writing) and her coach does it. The player can publicize it (in several ways) if she wants to but I do not know if the coach can if the player does not want it publicized.

I will not be surprised if a lot of our girls leave. If a lot do it will suck all around but it will surely send a yuge PUBLIC signal to the admins who have ignored the issue for years!

NCAA Division I women's soccer transfer portal is open from Monday, November 18, 2024 through Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Been sitting back, reading the comments, and hearing what is happening.
My analysis:

• TA is negligent for letting things get to the point they are with this program
• G is being selfish for not retiring

Reasons:

• Watching the games this season, we all know an overall to the program is needed (new coaching philosophy, influx of talent)
• Forcing Phil to retire does not solve the on field nor off field issues
• The players who played significant roles last year going into the portal makes sense for both them (why be apart of a rebuild) and the program (we need better talent)

Conclusion: Letting a lame duck coach/gm in any sport start year 1 of a rebuild is the biggest mismanagement in sports. Either TA or G need to realize this and figure out a respectable way for the program to move forward and reboot.

I agree with you. I think the money for the buyout is the issue. TA has talked about money issues with the coming of profit sharing in July.
