that's what was initially thought, but that's been debunked. the coaching salaries don't have to be equal, just the players pay I believeAston94 said:zgolfz85 said:Aston94 said:zgolfz85 said:I wouldn't hate it, but also wouldn't jump for joywangus12 said:
Gonna end up being Cherundolo
An American who has great international experience and understands US soccer as well. I don't get what's not to like.
Klopp ain't coming.
Agreed, the realistic pool just doesn't make me do backflips, but is what it is. There's a handful of names that would have me do backflips, but as long as Gregg's out, I'm hopeful
Due to the commitments US Soccer has made to equal pay it is going to be impossible to hire a big name coach like Klopp. You would essentially have to pay double for him as you would have to raise the USWNT coach to the same level. Like it or not, that is the direction we have chosen.

Asked Matt Crocker about last year's USMNT search, and how this coming one would be different.

He answer: "... I'm in a better place to have much more of a targeted search, where I'll be more inclined to go hard and go early with specific candidates ..."https://t.co/XXOc0L9kPj pic.twitter.com/j0qp0sspjP
JURGEN KLOPP A TOP TARGET FOR USMNT JOB, per @MiguelDelaney. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. 🚨

The Independent reports initial contact made between US Soccer & former Liverpool boss, who cited "running out of energy" for leaving Anfield. How rejuvenating does a home World Cup sound? 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/oSGbVgiOzV

I guess this poses a question for me:
1. The coach does not need to be an American, correct? (I guess this is obvious from our pursuit of Jurgen Klopp)
2. Is there a robust coaching development path out there for American coaches? (i.e. are there Americans in coaching circles in other European / International leagues?)

So I guess that rules out Bielsa.
