Landon at one time was my all time favorite. During that time, I saw him live in person (my first cap), get a hat trick against Ecuador in Tampa.

My all time favorite player in order through my years as a fan:

Meola-Cobi-Landon-Dempsey

Dempsey hasn't been surpassed since he retired, and it's gonna have to be someone really special to replace Dempsey as my all time favorite…

Amazing camera work there.

No one ever wants to see a close in shot.

Maybe on replay.

They were doing it last night.

Distribution... brilliant

Sad that the fees doesn't even catch Howard's insane throw that led to it all. You have to hunt but there are some fan phone videos from the stands where you can see it.

I still don't understand why TV thinks we want to see people in the stands, too.

Maybe it's just me.

It sounds silly to say, but that throw by Howard to start the break is one of his all time greatest plays as a keeper, and he's had a LOT of great plays!

Did you not see the fan dressed as Lalas last night? Or the fans dressed as the characters from El Chavo Del Ocho at the Mexican v Jamaica game?

The fan shots during down times or celebrations is some of the best parts of watching the game on tv. It brings the atmosphere of the game home to the tv viewers…

Man I thought Ian Darke's was great and iconic. I've rewatched that play countless time.

I find it funny that Ian had his goal call (which is fantastic "Oh it's incredible! You cannot write a script like this!") but he left some silence for the color commentator right afterwards to talk and it started so robotic & low energy and you can tell he was about to explain the tactical build up in the play that Ian cuts him off and just goes bananas again with excitement about how great the moment was.

That's a play-by-play guy who gets it, just a fantastic call.

Oh Ian's is a great call, but I just love how ridiculous Cantor gets and just the pure passion

As long as they aren't showing the crowd or replays while the ball is live. That's my biggest pet peeve

I also hate the close up like in that clip, or last night they did it twice when someone was pushing the ball down the line. LIke, show the other players and their runs and if there is a cross or not, etc.

Except he did give up a rebound, Pepi just didn't finish that one either.

That call is greatness!

I watched a video of his call as Argentina won the World Cup. That man loves the sport and absolutely loves Argentina soccer. Made my eyes a little watery for sure.

It's a matter of taste of course but 99 times out of 100 I will prefer the Spanish call over the English call even if I have no idea what the Spanish call is saying the majority of the time. They are consistently more emotional which makes them more real and more fitting of the moment because watching a team score a goal is always emotional (assuming you care about one of the teams playing). English speaking announcers seem to have that taught out of them to a degree or they are too busy trying to be clever.

Low key one of the best US goal calls ever was this one from the Mexican NT announcers when the US beat Panama 3-2 in the final 2014 WCQ and saved Mexico's ass. 10/10...no notes.

I mean, you can't reference that one without going to what has to be the true GOAT...Borstein vs Costa Rica (by way of Honduran announcers)...
