Celtic - Rangers finished 2 - 2.
CCV was excellent. Very strong in defense and had several key blocks (one on a Tillman shot late). Only one mistake in which he did well to win the ball, but tried to dribble out of trouble and turned it back over. I think he's ready for a mid table Premier league team to swoop in for him. He makes up for his lack of height defensively by using his body so well to shield away attackers.
Tillman was a disappointment. Several shots, but nothing troubling and just didn't create much. Had a critical defensive error which would have led to a goal if the winger didn't overrun a ball to the far post.
Sands came on as a late sub for Tillman as Rangers tried to ice a 2-1 lead. Only sequence from him I remember is he had the ball in the attacking 3rd and took way too long before getting his pocket picked. From what I've seen of him, his 1v1 defense looked really good, but has been caught out of position a number of times at CB. He's a CDM all the way for me and it's tough to see him breaking into the USMNT midfield.
For any CanMNT fans, Alistair Johnston got his first start at RB (just transferred from Montreal) due to injury and a likely pending transfer with the other RBs. I thought he looked really good defensively and was a bright spot. He looked a bit out of sync going forward but I think that's just adjusting to his new role.
