Seems like the worst thing a manager can do to keep their job is get promoted to the top division. Feels like 9 out of 10 who do are gone within 1-2 years of doing so...either because they (understandably) struggle in the top division or they go back down the next year.

Anyone know what's going on with Otasowie over at Brugge? I know last season he took a step away from the team but was in the game day squad earlier in the season. I haven't seen him in the last few squads though. Weird as he looked really promising when at Wolves

It's not that early. More than 1/4 of the way through the season. At least Leeds have a game in hand but they are out of the relegation zone only on GD.

Their schedule has been tough, home games against top clubs and road games against middle table. But losing to Leicester will be a bad loss, they need to win a couple going into WC break for sure.

Yeah but they didn't get nearly enough out of the games against Villa, Everton, and Southampton. They have 4 games before the WC…Liverpool, Tottenham, Fulham, and Bournemouth. They're not going to lose too many players to the WC (I don't think). Would be an ideal time for any team to cut loose a manager and use that month and a half for a new coach to train the players.

If they have a bad run in, I think he's gone.

It seems like Leipzig all over again… lots of games where the stat sheet looks like he ought to be getting results, but the results just don't come.

If he does get sacked, do we really want a guy who's been sacked relatively early in back to back seasons?

The list of managers who haven't been sacked is exponentially shorter than the ones who have. And he really wasn't that bad with Leipzig.

Based on general leadership style, past success, and intangibles I'd 100% take him.

Of course everyone gets sacked. But I'd love to see how many have been sacked mid-season in back-to-back years.

I still really like him and I'd gladly take him over ggg, but I would have a few doubts now, whereas I used to think he'd be a slam dunk.
